Unbelievable
We could do with someone like Bramble as he was back then alongside Colo. Certainly a better option than Williamson or Perch as third choice centre back.
Pilko
Bramble always had one fuck up and one mint pass per game like almost like he had a quota to fill. He used to batter a fair few clearances out for a goal kick from his own half too.
AyeDubbleYoo
Williamson is never as good as Bramble, but he's never as bad either.
AlanSkÃrare
Bramble's long balls were brilliant. Bramble was shit.
Ronaldo
Bramble was physically and technically very good, and he was an exceptional passer for a CB. Mentally he was the worst of the worst and unfortunately that never got better. Shame.
colinmk
The fact that Bramble was prone to giving the opposition a goal in almost every second game meant that he was a totally shite defender. If Baresi had done that he would be a totally shite defender too.
Yorkie
There were few players i was more relieved to get shot of than Bramble. Obviously, that was soon eclipsed by many of the relegation pack, but at the time...

ujpest doza
Bramble was strong in the tackle and in the air, but incredibly clumsy with the ball at his feet. He didn't pass the ball, he just banged it and hoped it would hit a team-mate at some point in its flight path. Nah, not having that, like. He used to ping at least one 50 yard+ ball, to the winger/forwards feet, a game. Me neither, Bramble was made to look bad by a young chest thumping professional geordie Saylor making ricks next to him.

Bramble could get some distance on the ball, but that did not make him a good passer.

Unfortunately, he was also thick as shit with the attention span of a goldfish.
Guest bimpy474
Used to like Titus, a truly two footed player, it was just when the ball was near our box both his feet became left ones..
TRC
Bramble was capable of having a MOTM performance against any striker. Didn't he mark Drogba out of the game in the 0-0 at SJP under Roeder? He had lapses of concentration, but he could be quality. You can't really say Williamson can be quality.

Aye he did, he also absolutely fucking dropped Michael Ballack in a tackle near halfway and in the same movement hit the ball out for a goal kick, as I was saying earlier. Darth Crooks
Bramble was far better; on his day like. This guy is no footballer in any way. Pure stopper material and at this level he is a non starter.
steve_69
Bramble had the potential to be a very good defender but the fact he was borderline retarded stopped him fulfilling it. Williamson clearly only ever had the potential to be an average CB and that's what he is. Because of the above, Williamson makes less blatant clangers than Bramble but he is probably at fault for more goals we concede because of poor positioning, poor judgement, lack of strength, lack of pace etc. At least Bramble had the ability to put in a match-winning/saving performance, even if he rarely did it. You cannot say the same about Williamson. I'll be just as happy when he leaves as I was when Bramble went.
littlelunchbox
Pardew absolutely love Willo, because he is a stats man. Pard feels he needs at least one very taller defender in the back four and that is usually Willo as Saylor is always injured. Hence the constant poorly contrived set-plays, floating ball to Willo's head. So predictable Pardew is.

When Williamson leaves I'll be a lot happier, though, because it'll probably mean ambition has come from somewhere.
