Mike Williamson (now unemployed)

Recommended Posts

Loves that Willo is turning it around, becoming a bit of a cult hero. Just knew he would take one for the team near the end v Anichebe when he got clattered. He seems a good honest pro, he's aware of his limitations and has taken his chance that was handed to him this season. Should be an inspiration to all our fringe players. Really glad to be proven wrong with Willo, was all doom and gloom when we were originally forced to use him.

Having a good season hope he keeps it up. Not sure if we signed Douglas he would have done any better. Maybe Kinnear got this one right, stop the Douglas Signing and Keeping Williamson.. Who knows....

I really doubt JFK had a masterplan and grand foresight to see Willo finding a bit of his old form back. I actually doubt he even remembered we have Willo. He just fucked up that deal who fuck knows what reason.

Despite all the foreign competition there is something nice about a good old English centre half who cost us peanuts doing really well. He's been a good player for the club, as noted he's has some apocalyptic performances but so have most of our team. He's playing with confidence and only getting better.

Plus, it means Steven Taylor is no where near the first XI

Whats not to like ,good having him playing well and tbh his confidence is sky high like many others atm

Iron Mike Williamson reaps reward of fighting on for Newcastle United

The Times (subscription)-55 minutes agoShare

His wife may not agree, but perhaps Newcastle United's largely unsung defensive rock has finally earned his new nickname. Step forward, Iron Mike Williamson.

Love the good old Williamson boot up field now hes doesn't do it all the time, you can tell when its coming when hes got nobody to pass to within 5 yards of him and looks up for Sholas whereabouts. Think we've missed mixing it up with the long ball abit and its created a few decent attacking threats since they've played, not sure but we may of won a corner we scored off from one of em.

Was left on his arse a few times today but still a quality performance and another good clean sheet  to add to Chelsea and Spurs.
