You can get 'verified' which puts a small green tick next to the name, and I think this involves some sort of proof being sent to Twitter. That's how you can generally tell who's are real. So when the real person signs up, they verify that it really is them (not sure exactly how that works) and then Twitter will put that they're a verified 'celebrity' on their account. Cool as f*** edit What *actually* happened between Shearer and Keane, at St. James Park that memorable day: Keane was timewasting (professionally) down by the corner flag. Shearer said to him "would you like me to sign that (the ball) for you, son?" Keane took the bait, and swung at Shearer - who didnt even flinch (check the video on youtube) Shearer then said "you stupid little -swear-" Beckham then held back Keane, who was red carded.
