Big Geordie
Not overly plussed with what I've read in this morning's Journal (if it turns out to be true) As ever, Ashley and Llambias being true to form with running the club on the cheap. No ambition to progress whatsoever.

Dave
Sources close to United once again ruled out a move for 27-year-old Blackburn defender Chris Samba after fresh speculation that the former Hertha Berlin man was in talks with the black-and-whites. At 27 Samba - who has also been linked with Tottenham - would be considered to be too old to fit into United's current policy and would also command wages of around £60,000-per-week. Cajun
27 is pretty old for a centre back tbf, he probably only has 5-6 years left in the game.

JH
Forget he's a damn good CB, he's too fucking old Might as well put him down - out of his misery.

Fucking sickening. 27years is perfect, 6-7 good years in front of him. 60k a week, not that bad is it?
TRon
He's too old to re-sell after using him for a couple of years is what they mean. The transfer fee won't be recouped.
Guest Chubby Jason
How devastating. Maybe we should look to sign the odd player to improve the team rather than constantly looking to sell players for a profit...only to not reinvest any of the said profit. JH
tbh you don't always recoup transfer fees through selling players on. We recouped all of Shearer's £15m transfer fee and didn't sell him. Samba will pay for himself through scoring goals and defending them.
Guest Chubby Jason
What happens on the pitch is irrelevant though.

He is a top top CB who knows the Premier League inside out and is looking for a new club.
Dave
I can't decide whether I believe that about 27 being too old to consider. I mean how ludicrous. Then again, he turns 28 in March. Nearly dead tbh.
Colocho
Williamson and Lovenkrands are the only players aged 27 or over that they've signed on long-term contracts since 2007, and both signings were made when we were a Championship club. As good a player as Samba is - we'd get his best years from him.
Hanshithispantz
He's the kind of player that could really push us forward, add another full back and a winger/striker and we're laughing. It's obviously too much to ask though and we'll more than likely be still feilding Williamson, Simpson/Raylor and Obertan come February. Pitiful.
