Jackie Broon
Chopra is threatening to quit Cardiff. Putting aside the fact that Ashley isn't going to part with £4m-ish, would you like to see him back at Newcastle?
Amir_9
No, we have better strikers in Carroll and Lovenkrands, Chopra will score you 5-6 goals a season in the PL max, both our current starting strikers are capable of that, we need to get a proper poaching striker to play behind Carroll. Guest
No chance for the simple reason he's not good enough.
ponsaelius
No, we have enough Championship level strikers.
Jackie Broon
But we don't have a good balance of strikers. Carrol, Xisco and Ameobi are all very similar players. They couldn't effectively play together. We need another player who can play alongside them in addition to Lovenkrands.

We don't want to go backwards, Chopra is too lightweight for the Premier League and too expensive for the average player that you end up burdoned with. He's crap. Caz
No, he isn't a premiership striker at all. Championship is his level.

ponsaelius
Tbf I've forgived him for playing for Sunderland after that moment. I just think he's not good enough, and signing him would be a backwards step.
Stifler
I like him for being a Geordie lad and wish him the best, but he has shown here and at Sunderland that he just is not Premiership quality, the Championship is his level. The guy though has a chance of becoming a Cardiff legend instead of just floating about at other clubs.
Ronaldo
Chopra is a much better player (and goalscorer) than Lovenkrands.
dinotheprehistoricgeordie
I'd have him here. Still think with a run of games he could be a tidy player in the prem.

ponsaelius
Chopra is a much better player (and goalscorer) than Lovenkrands. Neither are good enough to be relied upon in the Premier League. Lovenkrands had a better record than Chopra last season, though.
Ronaldo
Lovenkrands only managed 10 in the league when you take away penalties. And Chopra was playing in a far inferior team.
ponsaelius
Lovenkrands only managed 10 in the league when you take away penalties. And Chopra was playing in a far inferior team. Lovenkrands came off the bench a few times, played left wing 2-3 games and didn't have any pre-season of note. You can make compensations for both players, but they're both of a similar level really. Lovenkrands had a better record than Chopra last season, though. Looking on the Football League site Chopra scored more league goals with 16, while Loven got 13. Chopra got 18 in 44, while Lovenkrands got 13 in 29. Taking into account substitute appearences and playing wide left Lovenkrands had the better record. Taking these stats off ESPN like, so dunno of the accuracy. Still the main point stands that they're both Championship players.
Super Duper Branko Strupar
Chopra is no where near as good as Lovenkrands. Chopra even struggles in The Champonship. He's got nowt about him at all. His goals depend on how the team is performing, if the team are making chances against shit opposition he will of course get goals. He has nothing to offer other than being an overly average body in the box to try and turn a ball goalwards, and he's very inconsistent in doing that! Thespence
I just take goals scored into account.
ponsaelius
I just take goals scored into account. Doesn't really define how good the player is, the fact he got played more. Goals per game is fairer, and Lovenkrands is visibly ahead in that sense. Chopra was shocking both games he played against us last season aswell.
