Surrounded by shit doesn't explain why pretty much all of his iffy performances have come at SJP. There's a genuine limit to how effective he can be at home. The games against Stoke and Wigan in particular highlighted this.

He's one player, probably the best we've got and can't do everything on his own.

Has anyone worked out how many points he has cost us this season?

3 today.

2 last week.

3 v Blackburn (h)

He's not a bright lad for sure.

Honestly man you're a fucking joke anyway...

            W D L F   A  Pts

With     8 6 7 34 25 30

Without 1 3 4 10 16 6

Conclusion - you're shit, he's not.

Of course it does, and I never said otherwise.

How come that makes him the definition of an away player?

Because he's a far more effective player when he simply sits in front of the defence and stifles. Look at his 3 best performances and 3 worst performances and a pattern will emerge.

When he's expected to cover more ground, the recovery tackles come flying in and so does the occasional bad pass. He's still our best midfielder by a mile, don't get me wrong.

Agree with this. Was concerned when Pardew commented on how he'd like Tiote to contribute more going forward, if its not broke dont fix it.

Tiote is the player who will make the team tick and to get the best out of Tiote he needs to be surrounded by attack minded players, for me his only job should be the makelele role - break down opposition play then pass to said players.

He is becoming more than a DCM for us, even taking some set pieces.. dunno if am happy with it or not, we need a DCM to sit in there and protect the back four.

He put some excellent balls into the box for our forwards to fail at.

Pardew did say he could be a real force going forward if done correctly, agree with you though to a degree.

Sick of people screaming "SHOOOOOOT" whenever he gets the ball, no matter where the fuck he is on the pitch.

Indeed, although there's those with learning difficulties like howaythelads who positively revel in such jolly japes.

The fact that Tiote was the one trying to create things, shows the lack of creativity we had yesterday.

Don't get me wrong, it's great to see him trying to do things when those around him aren't, but he shouldn't have to be doing that.

True..With  all our creativity gone, it's no wonder that we've had problems the last two games.

I don't think Tiote is an out and out DM tbh. He is always closing far too high up the pitch to be the Makelele type. As with Parker he does not have the positional sense to be a pure DM.

Surely I cant be the only one who is glad he isn't just a Gareth Barry type who creates nowt? I think its great. He's capable of creating and protecting at the same time isnt he?

  • 2 weeks later...

Kuqi looks the same age as Keegan is now in that photo. No way is he only in his 30s.

It was like watching a father and son play when he partnered Airey in the reserve game last week.
