Dave
Reckon his fine performance today will confirm to the club that they don't need to sign another centre half. Which would be fine if he could keep it up and not get injured.
Elma
The season we finished fifth we were rock solid in the first 10-11 games. We didn't look as good after Taylor snapped his achilles against Chelsea. I firmly believe that (prior to Mbemba settling as we don't know how that's going to pan out) him and Colo are the best pairing we have. I'd love to see the stats of goals conceded over the past few years when him and Colo have played together, as oppose to when it's been Williamson or someone else. On the assumption that the hierarchy won't sign another centre half I hope he can stay fit enough to play 25+ games this season.
Tooj
He looks to be a bit less top heavy than he has been recently. Definitely added to his mobility/agility when on the pitch, as he doesn't turn like a tanker any more. Wonder if he's been advised to do that to prevent injury more? STM
He was brilliant yesterday. Loves a bit of last ditch defending. If only he could stay fit.
Deckard 13
Ah, the Steven Taylor cycle. It's almost as regular as the Sunderland cycle. Start the season with everyone writing you off - Have a couple of stellar, backs to the wall style games - get praised. "Maybe this time" - have a few moments where you are absolute mince - handle the ball comically - get injured - put on your horrific suit to go and roll out cliches on Monday Night Football - sit out the rest of the season and post questionably racist tweets on twitter in your spare time. Repeat.

Lotus
Tbf, he was very good on Saturday. If we'd signed a new CB and he'd played like Taylor did we'd all be delighted. I really hope he can keep this going and have, for the first time in his career, a very good season.

Ronaldo
When fit he'd be my pick to partner Mbemba with no more signings but we all know he'll be 'out for the season' within a few weeks. Waste of space.

mrmojorisin75
It'll be just like us for him to get in the side now, partner Colo and look his absolute best until we extend his contract and he dislocates his shoulder again putting the full stop at the end of his signature. Waste of space. More than that he's an idiot. A ticking time bomb waiting to explode on the field. Think he tried to handle that Hernandez shot which Krul saved, for instance. Aye a few people are going on like he's usually a good defender apart from the injuries but he is actually a pretty bad defender thay also gets injured a lot. At times he can look good but being a defender you don't get away with looking good at times. That said he works well with Colo and probably with Mbemba so probably is worth a place at the moment
Mole_Toonfan
Most teams in the league move the ball too quickly for his slow mind to process, Man Yoo didn't outside the first 20 mins so i don't expect such a performance to translate consistently. Unless we suddenly become a lot more organised as a team and cover the back 4 effectively.
The College Dropout
Always been a decent defender imo. Just very "Newcastle". No composure. Silly mistakes. Hilarity.
BrettNUFC
Tough call on weather he should keep his place or not. I think Mbemba and Colo should be given their chance. Taylor has been around long enough now for us to know this doesn't last. Be it his form or injuries.
Parsley
He's earned his place on Saturday's showing. Janmaat should be made to work for a start after that shambles the other week.
