Bobby loved Nobby, but at that time you can't be agreeing to that in your contract and then reverse it.

A former international manager shouldn't have been asking any player not to play for his country, Bobby was wrong to do so.

He was only asking a guaranteed starter in competitive games not to play in all friendlies because he was at an age where he couldn't play on a Wednesday for Peru and arrive back on a Friday night then play for us on a Saturday. Not unreasonable. He agreed to do it remember.

I'm sure Nobby retired from international football after falling out with the manager and then changed his mind which he's entitled to do.

Forced to leave Bolton as they can't offer him a new deal in the current financial siutation they're in.

A return to solve our striker problems? After all, Mitro needs to learn from the best, and who better than Barcelona's conqueror? Although some French prick has nicked his shirt.

Shola back in Toon. If ever I needed another reason to jack in my season ticket :)

Shola is into his 30's, he is well off. He's not going to get as good an offer to play for anyone as he has from Bolton. He should be playing for free until the end of the season.

Good point. Well said.

He has Premier League experience, and he certainly isn't an unseasoned young 'un. He fits the bill perfectly for some people around here. 5.5 year deal 80k p/w should do it.

I think you missed out on the goalscorer part

Has offered to play for Bolton for free but isn't allowed because of their transfer embargo

dem rules

He should have done so before the transfer ban came into effect, he knew this situation was going to happen.

He's done this now so he looks good but doesn't actually have to play for free.

Fair play to him though. A few people on here mentioned what a right tw*t Steve Harper was when out in public with a few stories of how arrogant he was. Thing with Shola is I've only ever heard what a top bloke he is off the football pitch. I wish him well, he's probably got a couple of years left in him playing at Championship level. In fact we might re sign him for our Promotion push next season.

I just believe he only thought of it afterwards.
