As back-up, playing infrequently only when needed I think he's good enough. At the start of the season he looked excellent, though that seems to have been forgotten now. He's at the point where he should just retire/cancel his contract if he doesn't like the way Hughton was treated and doesn't want to be here. Not like he needs the money. Unless we've got someone else lined up I've not got a problem with Sol on the bench for the rest of the season. It's when he needs a full run of games that I worry, but it's not like we're going to lose our 2 first choice centre backs regularly. I wish I could say this. We've had 4 or 5 first choices unavailable most of the season, although that obviously includes our two crocks. Depending upon how much he's being paid, surely he's OK as a fourth choice CB to get you through the season? Unless you have a particularly good kid to blood, or someone goes out long-term.
