Stifler
Will he sell up before appointing a new manager?, have new potential owners given them a name to get, or have said they don't want Hughton?

Colocho
He is here to destroy the club. For that reason, he won't sell us.
quayside
He sacked Hughton because he thinks it's the right thing to do to protect his investment. He won't give a toss about anything else. Hughton did a good job for Ashley in the Championship but Ashley doesn't think he's got what it takes at this level. Simple as.

Liam Liam Liam O
Will he sell up before appointing a new manager?, have new potential owners given them a name to get, or have said they don't want Hughton? Yes.
LucaAltieri
What benefit would there be to sacking Hughton before a take over? His contract is up shortly, anyway. Sacking him could be done at any time with minimal cost implications. No actual gains to doing it now but it does create a whole shit storm of problems. Crap thread. Minhosa
Silly thread. Surely a reasonable popular, sensible (from a PR perspective) and very cheap manager would be seen as a positive if you were about to flog the club. A more expensive, less popular or worse in front of the cameras manager would create a cost for any buyer straight away.
Colos Short and Curlies
I would have thought sacking CH indicates he isn't selling up anytime soon.

Skirge
Why would it help sell the club? a manger with a short term contract running out is a more attractive option for a new buyer
Chris_R
What benefit would there be to sacking Hughton before a take over? His contract is up shortly, anyway. Sacking him could be done at any time with minimal cost implications. No actual gains to doing it now but it does create a whole s*** storm of problems. Crap thread. This. Why would Ashley have to appoint the new guy before the takeover could be completed? That's just ridiculous, and Hughton was on peanuts with only 6 months of his contract to run. Guest WashyGeordie
Sadly not. Surely the 'new owners' would of came in first, asessed the situation, then sacked him if needs be. But there was nothing really to fix, yesterday we struggled (apart from if the players already knew) because we had 2 key suspensions and another 2 injuries, yet he's sacked. It doesn't make sense atm, but i bet it will when Pardew or someone rolls in.
Cunning_Linguist
You know this thread may not be as pointless / Stupid as it seems. Ashley Sacking Hughton now means Ashley would have to pay any compensation (albeit a small amount) so that the new owners would not.
wormy
Could they not have just made that agreement as and when these new owners have fully taken over? Say, Ashley taking the compensation amount off the sale price?
quayside
Hughton's pay off was peanuts and wouldn't even register in any thoughts of selling the club.
