Dave
SSN and Look North been mentioning Ray Wilkins... where's that come from? No experience. Fear not Steve Coppell and Howard Wilkinson are just around the corner. E X P E R I E N C E \o/
GM
just checked wilkins odds, into 10-1 with sky bet where did that come from Lazy journalists, gullible punters, greedy bookmakers. That's where that came from.
alexthegreat
Hes inspiring we will have great team spirit: "I don't like people who drain my time and energy. If you've seen the Harry Potter films, we use the term 'dementors' - people who can draw the life out of you in terms of your energy. So we eradicate the 'dementors', encourage the positive people, and that spreads around to create the team spirit we have here"
TRon
SSN and Look North been mentioning Ray Wilkins... where's that come from? would it be beyond some journalist to pick an outsider, place a bet then place a piece saying he's a possibility, odds tumble, bet laid, profits and trebles all round ? That would be more Mike Ashley's style surely. Who would have bet on Kinnear and Hughton a couple of years ago?

Decky
The shortlist for managers at our club is ridiculous these days man Shows how far we have fallen, but Ashley will probably tell you its progress.

Mistle17
Looks like the 5 year plan was one to beat this club to a pulp until it cannot possibly survive. By the looks of things he'll be ahead of schedule? Oh well done, Mike. More pie for you you fucking fat cunt...
Big Geordie
Wilkins did a poor job at QPR back in the early-mid 90's did he not? No-goer for me - mainly because he lacks experience and he comes over as being a respected man.
quayside
just checked wilkins odds, into 10-1 with sky bet where did that come from So it sounds like Pardew has read this thread and shat himself. Uncle Fester is the man.
Village Idiot
To be honest Pardew's first season in the top flight with Wham was pretty impressive. Harewood even looked world class. My Wham supporting mate was waxing lyrical about "Pards".

Village Idiot
Yes, the following season was a disaster and the wheels came off pretty quick for him. He also got in a row with Reo-Coker IIRC (although everybody seems to do that).

Stu
Seriously an appointment that actually makes hiring Souness look like a good decision. Jesus fucking christ, this has to be the singlemost idiotic post ever made in the history of N-O. Even if Ashley did something utterly retarded (what, again?) and appointed Gordon Brown as the manager of the cub, it could never make the Souness appointment look like a good decsion. jdckelly
its going to be a 5 year contract................ http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Newcastle-chief-Mike-Ashley-will-refuse-to-hand-over-a-big-transfer-budget-to-his-new-manager-but-will-give-him-five-full-seasons-in-charge-of-the-Magpies-article646443.html
TRon
I like Ray Wilkins but he would just be another nice guy to be shit on by Ashley. But cheap at the going rate like Kinnear and Hughton. Let's not forget why those two got appointed in the first place.

My Wham supporting mate was waxing lyrical about "Pards". Yup that seems about right - a lot of West Ham fans reckon Pardew was a good manager. Good with the media and sets up sides for decent attacking football seem to be popular compliments. But is he better than Hughton? The real issue here is that a lot of us think Hughton did a very good job in difficult circumstances. And if you are going to rip the club apart why do it unless you are putting in something or someone who is obviously better?
Foluwashola
It will certainly make less sense than the appointment of Souness.
toontownman
Worst run of games in 70 years for West Ham right? He has done nothing bar getting West Ham to the FA Cup Final. Described by the BBC as a "dangerous and distant animal" (I quite like that tbh) I feel lucky once again to be in Canada not in Newcastle, I feel for you all. At least the ribbing and depression is less outside my house.
