We have to show our support!

Im not even going to try and explain in detail how i feel about this fucking mess we're in at the moment (hughton being sacked), and it surely doesn't look too bright  for the future either. Im angry, frustrated and sad at the same time about all this as all of you, it's even hard to find the words for it cause it just doesn't feel real.

This is MY opinion and i will stand for it as well, you can say whatever you want to me, i honestly dont care, im not writing all this because im looking for trouble or anything, i just want to express my honest opinion about some people on this forum. I dont post alot on this forum but i spend quite some time every day reading around.

Maybe it's overreactions (can there be any now though?) but it fucking annoys me when i read stuff like "im done supporting this football club" "this is it, enough is enough until Ashley and co are out" and lines along like these, because there's been quite a few and im not going to quote, neither do i remember who exactly wrote what and so on, but i would like to tell you who feel this way to fuck off, maybe sounds harsh but that's how i personally feel when i read shit like that.

We dont have to support the idiots at our club, but we've got to support Newcastle United Football Club and it's name and the players, i bet that many of the players feel exactly the same as us fans, but if we give up what says that the players wont? If we show our support to them as usual or even more now during these difficult circumstances we might have a team in the future, but if we dont and many of us choose the easy option instead and give up there's probably a bigger risk thar the players will feel the same way and give up, and if we start loosing many key players im really worried about the club that i love and where this could end.

Ashley isn't Newcastle United, and never will be, we dont have to love our new manager or have the greatest of faith in him even if we would love to have someone special in many ways, but i know  that no matter who he picks we cannot turn on his back from the start, no matter how much we would like to do so, cause it wont help our players to perform any better  and it will only affect them in a negative way. What we can do is to support the players as much as we can no matter what we think of Ashley.

The asshole is at our club, it's just the way it is, we can choose to make the best of it or we can make it worse.

Im not trying to tell you to support Ashley, how the fuck could we?

‎'What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors, or the people who are paid to represent it. It's not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing department or executive boxes. It's the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.' - Sir Bobby Robson.

Thats right, but if the club is effectivley on hold in terms of progression as long as he's here, is not right to protect the future meaning of that statement above by boycotting games and potentially moving him near the exit door, and giving some meaning back to the league table.

I'll always support NUFC, but if Pardew is appointed I'll make my feelings known on Saturday and I wont be alone. We're being taken for mugs.

For the first time ever I'm seriously considering jacking in my season ticket mind. I'm not paying £400 a year to some fat cunt who in all likelyhood wouldn't give me the pleasure of his piss if I was burning to death outside on the street his Bucks mansion so he can run this club into the ground. No fucking way.

Here's the thing: a critical component of support is hope. You've got to have the belief that if you keep backing your team with all your heart, one day they will do something to make you feel good about sticking with them through all the hard times. There has to be something to strive for.

There is no hope with this club for the forseeable future. I'd love to say I can support my club with no prospects for recompense indefinitely, but I have to admit it's hard.

Thats it, for me.

This is it. Despite all the despair i've always felt we're an appointment away from progress and under Ashley that he'd learnt. Now it's clear he hasn't - no hope.

Absolutely 100% spot on.

I'm intrigued Ikon, are you a season ticket holder / do you get to many games? Because if you do, fair play, but if you don't, telling people who travel the length and bredth of the country, spending large portions of their disposable income cheering the team on, often pissing off their nearest and dearest no end by either not being around or being genuinely fucking annoyed when they are around following a defeat, is a bit fucking rich. As I said in another thread, I could never stop caring altogether, but i'll be fucked if I'm sinking in a massive financial and emotional investment into the club when it's owned by someone with absolutely zero respect for those of us who fill up the grounds. So, whilst it won't be 'the end' for me supporting Newcastle (I don't really think it would be for anyone on here. After all, we're all obsessed enough to sit around ranting and raving with a bunch of people the majority of whom we don't know) it will certainly be the end of me spending any money whatsoever going to the games and spending the other weekends glued in front of a tv or some kind of dubious stream.

Spot on. After the whole KK farce, things had settled down, and some of the 'hope' was coming back. Its been taken away dramatically for the 2nd time under this utter cunt in the space of what? 3 years? Its very difficult to keep going back for more.

Just one question. If Mike Ashley wants and expects value for money as owner of Newcastle, what does he think fans are looking for when they shell out hundreds on a season ticket every year?

Ashley actually has quite a good record of giving customers value for money, my football shorts and shinpads were a bargain.

Maybe he'll be giving 70% of everything next season.

To be honest, i understand your point (OP), however.

Ashley has bought a club with a massive fanbase and his actions are turning them (slowly) into customers.

You can treat supporters with contempt, and he has. But when they start becoming customers you have to think a little about what you're doing. And that's someting he's not doing very well.

We can love the club for what it means to us but we don't have to love it for what it means to him.
