Good and Bad Debuts

Recommended Posts

Going off memory I'd say:

Good: Mickey Quinn (fantastic game and fantastic player for us)

Bad: Woodgate (worst I can remember...I'm sure there's been poorer ones)

was the leeds game also john gallachers debut ?

Yes. Goal of the game from him as well.

Bad - Steven Taylor at Bolton? Fucked up in the third minute and we lost 1-0. Think it was his debut

Think he might have played in Mallorca prior to that. Could be wrong though.

aye he did.

Few will remember this, but in my mind there's a runaway winner for bad debut.

1980-ish, a Second Division game, away at Chelsea, a certain Bruce Halliday makes his debut at centre back and we lose 6-0. The most nervous, error-strewn performance I can remember from a professional footballer.

I think Chris Waddle made his debut in the same game, but I can't remember a thing about him. We probably never got the ball into their half.
