Dokko
Dominated possession, did not create. 15 shots, only 3 on target. Worked all week on dealing with Pelle and runners behind us. Should have had a pen for Fonte handball. Made a difference to someone's livelihood Didn't roll over. Didn't get the breaks. Crowd/atmosphere: everybody sitting and waiting. Decision will be made after the result tonight. "They" have been working hard behind the scenes. Still feels he can do it (the job). Played good sides and played well. Needed more ambition in the final third. Doesn't know if he knows his future when he boards the plane tomorrow. Has to consider if they offer him the job until the end of the season with another man coming in. All in all seems resigned that he has blown his chance Am i reading this wrong or does that mean we're about to offer the job to someone? I was typing along with the interview, so may have not got that literally - he just implied that the result tonight more or less sealed his fate basically. Ah man, had my hopes up
Dave
Newcastle caretaker manager John Carver on his future at the club: " It's exactly the same as it was before the game. There's been no talks and whether there will be in the next 48 hours I'll decide with the club. "We haven't won a game and you need to win games. The crowd are waiting on a decision and the club has to make that soon. "They have to do something. We don't deserve to drift away. The fans won't put up with that and something has to be done." Huh? Cronky
It wasn't a very impressive interview. He seems way too emotional to handle the pressure of that kind of job.

LFEE
That interview cheers me up a bit. What did he say? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/9650350/premier-league-john-carver-thinks-newcastle-board-will-appoint-new-manager-in-the-coming-days

Tiotes Witch Doctor
A LOT of people across social media seem to have or are considering packing in their season tickets and walking away like, I honestly think if this wanker is appointed it might be the final tipping point for a lot of people. Wilson
surely his 'trial' is over now
Cronky
surely his 'trial' is over now He's as good as called time on it himself. We have to appoint someone now. If Carver can't motivate himself to keep battling he's not going to be able to inspire his players.

Unbelievable
Couldn't they have just come out and said: "look, here's our new manager. We believe the current squad is good enough to stay up and we will keep our powder dry until the summer (haha) in order to let the new manager assess what he's got and what he requires" if they are such cheapskates that they won't even fix the two glaring holes in our squad with the tens and tens of millions they must be sitting on by now? Guest Gino14
People have their views on Carver as a person, but I don't think this is personal to many people. If he was perceived to be good enough, nobody would really object to him getting the job, at least I don't think so anyway. For me he's not really up to it and doesn't have either the skills or gravitas to be the head coach of a club like Newcastle.
brummie
Is he really only 50? He looks about 10 years older.
ScottishMagpie
I feel more upbeat after reading about what he said. Judging by his relaxed attitude in the latter stages of the match i really thought he was getting the job (my thinking being if it was me and this was my 'last' chance to make a good impression on my interviewers i would be going off my nut). Dave
Fairly convinced now that he won't be getting it full time. Just too much at risk. Still think he might be asked to take it until the summer though. Be funny as fuck if he turns that down, but he wouldn't.
