Newcastle United manager John Carver speaking to BBC match of the Day: "I'm devastated, I'm annoyed. I needed five to 10 minutes to calm down. Our guys gave every inch. But when you play Man Utd you have to concentrate for every minute and we didn't.

"I think we had the best chances and you have to put one of those away. You just wonder if they will hit you on the sucker punch and they did.

"I'm devastated for our guys. The goal at the end the way it came, young Abeid has learned a harsh lesson, he is learning the game.

On Newcastle's first-half penalty shout: "It was a penalty. Mr Taylor has a decision to make. At the time I thought it was and usually your gut instinct is right."

On alleged spitting between Papiss Cisse and Jonny Evans: "I haven't seen it."

If it has happened is that something you will act on? "You can't do it can you, it's one of the worst things in football. I can't comment on it, I just know there was a fracas on the halfway line."

Not as bad as I thought he'd go at Abeid tbh.

There's time yet, he's wetting his lips for that one tomorrow.

He's still pointed the finger squarely at him and not mentioned that Krul could also have cleared the danger rather than setting Man Utd up for a goal.

They were both at fault, not necessarily equally like, but he's chosen to point the finger at one of them and it's not surprising which one.

It was Abeids fault. In Newcastle we don't pass the ball, we hoof it. -Joke Carver.

Abeid would have been better off not trying to help the defenders out. If he'd been stood back on the centre circle watching he'd not have put himself in the firing line.

If he stays we'll a) probably struggle to attract the players necessary to stay up next season, b) struggle to keep some of the players that keep our heads above water now and c) be in the hands of man more than likely to relegate whatever players are put in front of him.

If Carver would only understand what he is in the process of doing here. Not only contribute to the now epic murdering of the club, but also damaging his own legacy, a legacy that was still respectable to some people who liberate him from any accountability under Pardew. I'll struggle with anyone who does Ashley's bidding, Keegan, Hughton, Nolan etc. showed the way, all somewhat dignified people.

Charnley will look like an absolute sack of shite if they appoint Carvdew following his manager search statement like. Carvdew ticks none of the boxes he wanted, except the ones he didn't mention like being cheap and doing absolutely everything he's told of course.

Which is exactly the reason he'll get the job on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

his quotes again

"It’s not a case of someone getting the job because he’s a friend of a friend or he knows someone. It is a proper structured process which I believe will in the end give us the best individual for the job."

and

"I know that the individual who comes in will be credible and best suited for this role.

First and foremost, they have to be a good coach and with a track record of developing players and giving young players a chance is important.

For me, style of play is important. How they conduct themselves is also important as the head coach will play a key part in how the club is perceived through his conduct on and off the field."

not that anything these utter cunts say matters anyways but the above when boiled down could be shortened to "Not John Carver".  That's if we were dealing with people who had reasonable relationships with the truth of course.

Aye same. Still thought Riviere was worth a mention for being a striker afraid to score a fucking goal mind.
