Ketsbaia
If he goes to Sunderland, it's because nobody else is in for him. And theres no chance of that happening, people!
SUPERTOON
Honestly i think all the rumours today are just bullshit. Didn't Whelan say something about looking to sell him in a couple of weeks when he got back from holiday? Aye, doesn't stop clubs talking to Wigan and his reps. Skeletor
Sky Bet suspend betting on him signing for us. It means nowt like lads. All Douglas, Wilson et all trying to make some quick money knowing it's done.
Geordie Ahmed
I can see him going to Sunderland, seemed to have a decent relationship with Bruce at Wigan but think it could be a problematic move for him, if he's joins he'll live back in Newcastle and while he's good mates with Titus he still as friends like Shola here along with our new French contingent i can see him getting grief when he's out and about in town especially if it looks like he turned us down for them, the mongs over in mackemland will probably give him grief as well for socialising with mags!! True - the papers cite Bramble as an example of an ex-player playing for Sunderland that has no problems - BUT that is cos he is s*** and we find it funny he is playing for the Mackems, Charlie on the other hand . . . Tsunami
We've just signed a winger, the Ronnie reckons Jose is staying; we will not stump up 9 mill or more for N'Zog our priorities now lie elsewhere - like a striker. Do they? My bad - Jonas
Guest Brazilianbob
Maybe Pardew has a Wenger-like plan to nurture one of them into a striker Was just thinking that Zoggy could make a decent striker but in the Defoe mold. He certainly looked the part at SJP for Wigan last season.
Guest JS
Just got a text and been told he's in talks with club. Betting suspended on Skybet also isn't it? Probably horse shit like.. but... I live in hope!
Revolution Number 9
Can't be arsed to check if it's giggs, but MsiDouglas Mark Douglas Just spoken to a club insider. Neither Charlie nor Mevlut 'in talks'. 'Pure fantasy,' was the exact quote. #nufc
thenige
Dunno about Zoggy potentially as a striker but I do remember some dreamy composure he showed once in front of goal for the Toon when he rolled his foot over the ball selling the keeper completely then slotting it into the net. Have a feeling it was a 3-0 win v Blackburn but may be mistaken...
geordie jamie
Betting meant to be suspended but its shit, rubbished by 3 local journos and sky (via twitter)

ExiledGeordie
Listening to Courtney on Talksport is like pulling teeth, jesus. It's just an awful rehash of stuff he's read on twitter like others have said on here. Gets facts wrong, clueless on different players......earsplittingly bad journalism

Guest Wearside
Got a lot to answer for this Twitter malarky and it's quite clear that none of these journalists have a scooby doo what's happening and are just guessing.
TherealnorthernTOON
Oh well, I guess we have learned the last few days that with this leadership suddenly the player is standing in the hallway going by unoticed until he's on the pitch and everyone wonders who the f*** that is... stozo
I'm quite happy we are not going after him to be honest. £10m is a lot of money for a player who's primary position is left midfield where we now have four players who can play there. He is a quality player but I think the £10m could be much better spent on a striker.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
I'd like N'Zogbia back but £10m for a player in the last year of their contract won't look like good business to Ashley. Sylvain Marveaux for free probably covered the area in the squad N'Zogbia could have filled.

Newcastle have ended their interest in Wigan’s Charlie N’Zogbia while Chelsea’s £20million Dan Sturridge – although he has admirers at St James’ Park – is not a serious target. Now £10 million on Sturridge would be a great investment imho as the Ashley mandate is to buy and sell at a profit and could be worth £30 million at the end of next season if he keeps improving ,so worth a punt and i would be happy him wearing the no 9 shirt . He is a quality player but I think the £10m could be much better spent on a striker. He has played right midfielder of late, and is definitely worth the money. Why should it be one or the other? Because is it really sensible from a business and football perspective to be spending a vast amount of money on a player who won't be able to play in his primary position? Due to the nature of the wingers we have he is also not a lock to get a game on the right side as Ben Arfa, Jonas and Marveux can all play on the right as well as Barton. The reality is we have a budget to keep to and it is not a good idea to spend a large amount of that budget on a player for a position that is already well staffed.
