Birmingham City 0 - 2 Newcastle United - 15/02/11 - post match reaction from p25

If ever there was evidence why we need to add to this group of lads and not get rid of a few and then replace them tonight was it.

Abso-bloody-lutely. I'd sell Smith. That's the only player i'd immediately get rid of without a second's thought; probably Sol too. Everyone else has a place in the squad.

Apart from that 1st half v Arsenal this is the most solid I've ever seen an NUFC play.

No, we were better against Burn. How we managed to get only one point from that match is beyond my belief. Epic victory though. The most important of the year.

I mean in general not just tonight.

It is very very impressive the fact that numerous Newcastle supporters travel all over England just to see their club playing! It is very respectable.

How many Newcastle has inhabitants ?

Starting to look like we'll stay up. Can't take anything for granted that's for sure, but that was a massive win. Professional job done, we defended well from what I saw. Really pleased for Best. 5 goals in 7 league games is pretty impressive for anyone. What odd's on him to outscore Carroll for the season

Absolute cake walk. Birmingham really are shit, we totally bossed that.

Harper 7 - Didn't have much to do, but was safe as houses when he did.

Simpson 6 - Bentley gave him a bit of trouble, but other than that he did ok.

Coloccini 8 - Top draw, him and Williamson just made Zigic look like a big lump of shit and raped Martins with the offside trap.

Williamson 8 - See above.

Enrique 8 - Never troubled. Laughed when Jerome tried to beat him late on.

Barton 6 - Not his best game, delivery was inconsistent today.

Nolan 6 - Decent battling performance in the middle.

Tiote 8 - Bossed it once again, great performance.

Jonas 9 - Man of the Match. 2 crosses, 2 goals. His best performance in a long time.

Best 8 - Cracking game from him, good header for the goal, hold up play was good and he won a lot in the air.

Lovenkrands 7 - Decent from him, looked a threat and took his goal well.

Ranger 5

Guthrie 5

Sol 5

Oba showed why a) he was a major part of why we went down, b) why two clubs have cast him aside almost instantly and c) why he's at a club like Birmingham.

great performance, fantastic from Enrique, Jonas, Tiote and Barton.

Enrique dropped two bollocks in the first half. He got caught dwelling on the ball. It could have cost us dearly. Why don't people praise the likes of Williamson, Simpson and the strikers?

Williamson was fantastic. Just the kind of no-nonsense defending we needed tonight on a dire pitch.

Bolton at home this weekend. They have not won on the road since november, baring any big injurys should be anohter 3 points

Forgot about that, point still stands though. Plus gives us a beter chance to sort injurys

Exactly! Enrique almost cost us the game with his sloppyness. Williamson was very important today. It's vital to have an areal cb against opponents as bham.

On the way home from work, Moncur was saying on the radio that Simpson had a poor-ish first half. Is that true?

Sorry for being a little behind, but I hear we got a couple injuries tonight :/ who were they and how serious?

Lovenkrands and Best both went off injured. They both limped off, no idea on severity.
