I realise no one here will have the answer btw Arsenal are the shortest team in the league this season. West Brom the tallest. That's all I've got for you. loki679
I used to subscribe to a payed web service from a cable company here in Sweden where I could stream all our games (or other games if I so wished), including the ones at 3pm on Saturdays. Two or so years ago they got new guidelines from the PL (or something) which meant they could only show 1 game at 3pm on Saturdays. This meant that I very rarely could watch us play on Saturdays since we're not one of the top/most popular teams and hence other matches were favoured, so I canceled my subscription as it wasn't worth it anymore. I read somewhere that the reason they do not show PL games at 3pm on Saturdays in England is that it would have a negative impact on lower league attendances as people would stay home and watch TV instead of going to see their local teams play. I can see the reasoning behind this, but why are the games not shown in other countries? It won't make me fly to England to watch our game like Is it because some pubs used foreign satellite tv companies to broadcast games cheaper? Or what is the reason? If so, surely the money they lose on customers cancelling cable/satellite subscriptions, and losing interest in their team/the PL because they can't watch their teams play, outweighs the money lost on pubs using some "greek" satellite company (I assume that "greek" company have already payed Sky for the PL rights)? Or am I over estimating the amount of people who see this as a problem? tl;dr: Why the f*** can't other European countries show more than 1 game on tv at 3pm on Saturdays? A very long and complex situation which basically boils down to the fact that the TV rights for the Premier League cost an absolute fortune to buy, the PL want to keep the prices as high as possible so they restrict who can show matches live. They've proven in other European leagues (cant remember which, I think Germany?) in which nearly every match is shown live on TV but it has very little/no effect on attendances. We get every game live here. Think they do in the US too.
loki679
Does anyone know how you can download 'True Faith'? It says you can download it on their page but when you click the thing it takes you to some online publishing site and there doesn't seem to be a download option. I want to download it so I can keep it for later and move it across my devices without needing a net connection. edit: Never mind, turns out you click 'share' then the download link appears. Hughesy
Putting aside any bias we might have, where do people think that the peak Keegan side and peak Robson side would finish in recent Premier League seasons? I am tempted to exclude this season as it might skew people's opinions a bit.
Disco
Their slightly higher intensity/ just fucking go for them attacking game would've been more relatvent this season than ever.

sbnufc
You need 5 appearances to get a Prem medal, dunno about Championship but I assume it's the same? So aye, unless he gets injured now and doesnt play for Boro again (currently on 3 apps)
henke
Any of yous who are my age will no doubt remember this Adidas kit / template thing which quite a few clubs and international teams used in the early '90s. I own a couple, and as I'm about to start football training after many years break I'm looking to buy one or two more. http://www.globalfootballshirts.com/ekmps/shops/4dd49f/images/1992-1994-republic-of-ireland-football-shirt-top-jersey-adults-xl-3163-p.jpg I have Ireland (away) and Marseille (home). I know of USA, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Rangers. Quite fancy the white USA one but if anyone can remember an others I'd be dead grateful. Ta. joeyt
On penalties why do linesmen go up to the edge of the box on the touchline rather than stay on the sideline? If its to see if the ball crosses the line then goal-line technology does that now and if its to see if the keeper comes off his line then they clearly aren't making a decision on it (see Adrian v Everton today) Surely they should stay on the sideline in case the ball comes back off the keeper or the post and there might be a vital offside decision which they'll be way out of position to judge because they're making their way back to the sideline from the edge of the box

Figures 1-0 Football
It is to see if the ball crosses the line, as not all competitions have goalline technology so therefore need the linesman where he is. Although, the linesman should also watch for the keeper coming off his line. The Adrian one today was ridiculous, he was nearly on his 6 yard box when the ball was kicked. triggs
Better able to see if the ball is across the line I presume
M4
As you mentioned, the reason for their presence there is specifically for goal line issues. Probably must just be from habit now at the top level and there having been no official ruling.
joeyt
There's pretty much no point in them being there for Premier League games then with the technology Can't remember the last time I saw a keeper penalised for being off his line

sbnufc
It's mainly for the GK on/off the line, than to see if the ball is in or not http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/afdeveloping/refereeing/law_6_the_assistant_referees_en_47406.pdf Point 3 on page 4 and then pages 13 & 14 It hardly ever get enforced though, like you say. bulivye
would it be interesting to see what kind of a side we might come up with if we took every team's premiership table position & the corresponding player from that team who plays that position? for example, as of today in a 4-4-2 we'd have in goal #1 Schmeichel from Leicester city; #2 left back from Spurs; #3 ctr back from Arsenal, etc... might be a pleasant distraction from our mgr troubles! Hughesy
Didn't know where else to put it - has anyone here got any connections to any ex-England international footballers or retired Premiership footballers who people might actually know? Been tasked with trying to help organise a corporate event in London to coincide with the England vs Wales game at the Euros and we want to try and get a relatively well known footballer along to mingle/chat/talk about the game for 3 hours or so. Already tried going through one of those places that arranges this kind of thing, but their rates are ridiculous - getting Ray Wilkins along will cost you 7.5k for example. So I thought cutting out the middleman might be the best way forward. Is it worth trying to contact them on twitter? Other than that, I'm out of ideas...
