A source close to FC Porto just told me the transfer of Moutinho to Spurs should be announced in the next 24 hours. Will keep you posted.

The f*** they sign Dembele for?

Different players.

He was excellent for Espanyol last season, although I'm not sure how he'll do in a team where he won't have complete freedom like he had in Barcelona. He's a very talented but anarchic player.

f***ing hell, I mixed up Moutinho with Coutinho

I was going to ask what the hell you were on about

Not my fault man, all these Portuguese -inho nicknames, no imagination at all

Considering they only paid 10 mio for him 12 would still be too much.

Typical jew tbh. (Traditional always getting good deals out of everything.)

Hang on, is that a German guy pandering to Jewish stereotypes?

Anyhoo, we actually paid 8 mill or so for VDV so in theory it's a fantastic deal. Problem is, he's a cracking player, a real leader with intelligence both on and off the pitch. That's why I think it would be a mistake to sell, and why asking 14mill makes sense. I just don't understand the mentality that Levy should be "locked up" for asking that. Apart from the fact we can ask what we want, some players are worth more to certain teams than others, and some players' integral worth is more than the obvious. I'm sure that you would be asking far more for , say, Tiote, than if Man U had him right now.

Should snap Gio up now.

I wish I could agree, but he'll never work in England.

He's a great player though. Spurs have fucked him up big time (though I'd hazard a guess that he doesn't leave due to the dinero).

They need quality players over the season, many games, just like we erm...Spurs that is. And Moutinho is more of a box to box player than a AMC/forward like Dembele

It's just twitter though. I mean, it would be great and all but I just don't expect it to happen.

If we could get him at a bargain, he'd be a perfect substitute for Obertan.

Dembele will play CM, that's been his role for a while now.

As for Moutinho he's a lot like Dembele but probably better lol and better vision..... Maybe AVB want's to play them both alongside each other as CM's both are pretty complete midfielders and typical all action midfielders.

Both can pass, dribble, tackle, intercept etc etc.

And maybe have a DM behind them, not sure where Sigurdsson fits into all this though. Pretty good line up though.

I agree, Gio should have left Spurs long ago.

Is he on really big money, though? He was just a prospect when we sold him to Spurs, can't imagine him being offered high wages.

Not particularly, as far as I know. I think the basic problem all along has been Levy's asking price. It doesn't make much sense to me, because his amortization should be hardly anything. We god wonder if AVB might try to integrate him, but it actually seems further away than ever.

I know that we had a sell-on fee (it expired at the end of last summer window IIRC) that scuppered a few moves, as Levy asked the buying club to make up the difference. At least that's what was reported over here when his move to Sevilla failed, for example.

;D but seriously i'll be very surprised if Dembele didn't play the role that has got him this move in the first place.

Team in wanting options shocker. Moutinho (if he joins) will be the metronome, Dembele the driver, then Sigurdson the pinnacle or Sandro the breaker.

How i see it too, who are else are Spurs trying to bring in or will Dembele, Moutinho and Lloris be it? ( if they all join, would be fantastic signings mind !)

They've been pretty heavily linked with Willian and Damiao, or at least another striker.

it's looking like we've been fucked about for both by their respective chairmen. In a perfect world we would get in Lloris and Moutinho, then another striker and competition for Lennon/Bale. In theory, that's exactly what Damiao and Willian are. I mean, I'm sure we can't stretch to all of them, but three of those four might be possible, particularly if Dawson goes. If that happens, then I reckon we're actually pretty shit-hot. All we're looking for then over the next couple of years is kids, plus the odd opportunistic improvement.

It's quite clearly a pipe dream, though.
