"It is adductor, but not the same place," he told L'Equipe. "I felt some pain.

"We played a lot of matches recently so that could be a reason. Before the encounter against Anzhi, I felt fine.

"I don't think it will be really serious."

If the injury keeps him out of the Wigan game we need to have him pulled out the International games too,  i could easily see a scenario where he still gets called up, misses the Georgia game(think thats who they play) and then plays in the crunch game against Spain.

wouldn't mind Sissoko tweaking a calf which sidelines him for a week tomorrow aswell.  With the Europa league games in the last few weeks and the big league game we could have done with this international break to give the players some well needed R&R ready to kick on with the big games coming up.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley will refuse to sell France playmaker Yohan Cabaye at any price.

Ashley warded off interest in several stars last summer by quoting an automatic £25million transfer fee for all of his players – including regular sub James Perch!

And he will do the same in the coming off-season with midfielder Cabaye, who is Ashley’s favourite Toon player, the man who makes the side tick and who will become skipper if Fabricio Coloccini leaves this summer.

Let's hope this is true
