What does it say, roughly? Lille are in the CL, we're not even in Europe. Blanc has told players to make decisions based on their selection for the national team. It suggests him going abroad will be a disadvantage.
Crumpy Gunt
http://www.le10sport.com/Football/Ligue1/Pourquoi-Cabaye-detruit-sa-carriere-300547589.html Nice article entitled "Why Cabaye destroyed his career". What does it say, roughly? Gone from CL to 12th place NUFC who aren't even in Europe. Hasn' heeded Blancs request to think about where they go (in relation to being selected for the national team) I don't think the author is impressed. Guest
Again though, indicates just how highly they rate him. I'm guessing it's the equivalent of someone like Michael Carrick joining a mid-table Spanish side.

Guest WisconsinMagpie
Joey7Barton Joseph Barton Cabaye = happy days.........keep spending. Teams win trophies not individuals tweeps So, is Joey happy that he's coming or not? Honestly, who can tell? I just ranted about this: http://www.newcastleunited.us/2011/05/cabaye-closes-in-as-barton-smolders-gervinho-next.html

I just ranted about this: http://www.newcastleunited.us/2011/05/cabaye-closes-in-as-barton-smolders-gervinho-next.html I have a hard time interpreting what he means with that. Surely he can't be negative towards signing and really means that we need to spend in order to build a team since 4-5 individuals cannot win trophies and they need signings like Cabaye to win trophies. Interpolic
Wouldn't know him if he slapped me in the face so at this stage the best I can say is at least he's not Stephen Ireland. 'tis good to see us moving early mind, I've always said you should have the majority of your transfer dealings done by the start of pre-season and certainly by the first league game. Anything after that should be a bonus if a certain player becomes available. Would be fantastic and most unusual to see 3-4 new faces in the pre-season games. morgs
I think bartons statement is self explanatory, while he isnt against cabaye he is saying that the talent of one player doesn't win football matches without all 11 players playing together as a team
Oakie Doke
It's a very ambiguous statement. Perhaps deliberately so?
Shearergol
Maybe he's just saying that one signing won't be enough to move us on to the next level, so bring some more in?

Oakie Doke
tbh I thought he was saying the team and its spirit is more important than any player.

Hanshithispantz
He said "they don't want to spend any money" about 5 minutes prior, so I think that comment was just his way of backing out of it slightly, whilst also maintaining theat he thinks they need to spend more.
