Gervinho - We desperately need someone with pace on the right wing instead of Barton, would love to see him play there. But only if we brought in a striker too.

Gameiro - Could well be the striker that we desperately lacked last season. But we need someone with pace out on the right to be able to create for him.

f*** it. Looks like we have to sign both!

Not sure how you arrive at this conclusion.

Just my opinion. Barton's not been as effective as people think out on the right, most of what he's created has been via dead balls rather than from open play, and with Carroll up front to aim at. Can't think of many goals he's set up from open play since Carroll left when playing on the wing.

Plus we're so one-dimensional in our attacks with only Jonas with any real pace in the side going forward. Quick wingers on both flanks would carry far more threat and give us options.

Gervinho looks more versatile to me, although that's only from their respective youtube highlights.

Don't know if you can really describe Gervinho as versatile ...

Me neither.

Feels pretty greedy all things considered, but is anyone else kinda disappointed we're not wanting both?

My first bit of ITK for ages, and my last for probably the same amount of time, but this whole either/or thing is nonsense. We're after both.

We'll be ready to pay £20 million for the both of them, as well as £4 million for Cabaye?

Why not?  We will have the money coming in from Enrique, Barton and Tiote ;)

Imo Gameiro is the smarter and more clinical player, while Gervinho has more tricks and is more likely to create something out of nothing, more hit and miss. Very good players both of them mind.

Gameiro would be a bigger risk, if hr struggles to score he will be a flop but has so much potential.

Gervinho is more of a sure thing as far as adapting to English football I reckon.

If one then Gameiro for his lack of ACN commitments and he is an out and out striker, like Villa at Zaragoza.  But we should get both!

Neither are particularly versatile, in my opinion.

Gameiro is very much a Bellamy-type striker, who thrives down the middle but can play out wide. Gervinho is the opposite, great at creating space on the right wing - and driving towards the goal. Not convinced by his ability as a central striker.

One or the other makes no sense as they're totally different types of players.

Yeah. Doesn't quite strike true that we'd attempt to sign 4 top (and expensive) talents in 1 transfer window, however.

Tiote isn't going anywhere this summer.

Maybe its one or the other because they're sure they want N'Zogbia, so just need one other. Gervinho is a fantastic player, but I think I'd rather have N'Zogbia. Therefore to answer the question, Gameiro.
