Tsunami
He was pretty useless at the start of last season. Let's see what he's like after 6 games.
Penn
He should be doing exactly as he's told. If Ba is a problem, demanding where he plays and when then he should be moved on. Urgh. Completely cringe-worthy how people on here take random snippets of baseless speculation like this and treat it as gospel/remotely credible. Demanding that he isn't substituted for fuck's sake. Not entirely baseless. Last season I think it was Bolton home when we had a frustrating game and we took Ba off for Shola. Ba angrily refused to shake Pards' hand iirc, and while I think that's just one of those "heat of the battle" things it still wouldn't surprise me sadly if he shows the same attitude towards being subbed. Hanshithispantz
Is this going to be the next weird forum thing? Can we find stats for other forwards to compare their last 20 minute goal tallys?
Cajun
He was pretty useless at the start of last season. Let's see what he's like after 6 games. He hasn't been useless this season, he has scored 1 in 3 which contributed a big part to us getting 3 points. Don't notice the Cisse thread being bumped
Mole_Toonfan
Outside of Ben Arfa, Ba has been one of our better players. Cisse, Cabaye and Jonas have offered f*ck all going forward so far, at least Ba has looked like doing something. All this is clearly due to the fact Ba is comfortable in the 4-4-2 and the rest are not but still. I want Ba moved to the left of the front 3 as much as the next guy, as i truly believe his lack of goals last year was not due to playing on the left but confidence and fitness. but he's hardly been the worst performer. I really do hope we are not playing 4-4-2 just to keep Ba happy though, as no one is bigger than the team.

Shak
Aye. I'd actually drop Cisse for the Everton game with Ba central and Marv out left.
Wilson
Aye. I'd actually drop Cisse for the Everton game with Ba central and Marv out left. was saying this on another forum cisse is clearly out of sorts at the minute
Hanshithispantz
Yeah Cisse is the player I would 'drop'. I would think of rotating a front 3 between Marv, Ba, Cisse & Ben Arfa with Ben Arfa being ever present and Ba altering between LW & ST depending on who and how we're playing. Cabaye just behind. Hanshithispantz
Either way it would be disappointing if Pardew feels he cannot bench either, it's pretty clear that Marv will bring more to a game at the moment but as he isn't a big figure in the side he'll always be the one to make way. Jayson
We should be concious that it is Pards job as manager to have faith in players & ideas beyond that of a fan & that being like that has proven most of us wrong recently.

Cisse is the same and he needs a goal. I'm hoping to see major improvement after the international break.

GuyP
I think Ba has shown more this season (even his goal aside) but then again, Cisse could have scored if not for a good save by Guzan...even when Ba is off form, he still has the physical presence which is a benefit to the side, but then again Cisse needs to get his sharpness somehow... its a hard decision! I just feel like we need to mix it up somehow, we feel toothless despite having one of the best set of forwards in the league!
Lush Vlad
His fitness at the moment is, as Bernard Manning would say: "a f***ing disgrace!" I scrolled down the page and skim read this. I thought you were going to compare Ba's fitness to Bernard Manning's I mean I know Ba looks off the pace, but that would have been a tad harsh! Cronky
Both been very poor imo. I'd agree, and I don't think it's a problem that will go away unless Pardew takes a grip of the situation. It feels like the two players themselves aren't completely convinced about the partnership. There's been public talk from Pardew about where Ba wants to play so the issue must be floating around the dressing room even if it's not discussed openly. Ba strikes me as quite a strong, assertive character and it's important that the whole squad feel that Pardew is picking the team completely on merit and according to his own convictions about what works best. There's a question mark around whether that's happening, and that's not healthy.
magorific
I'm all for 4-3-3, particularly above dropping player(s) who came so good last season. Had we done to Ba at this stage last season what people are suggesting we do to Cisse (ie drop him), imagine how different our season would have been.
