Because he's composed on the ball and looks like an actual footballer compared with a lot of CH's doesn't make him a particularly good defender. His rate of decline this season is rapid, what little pace he had is gone and his positioning not good enough to compensate for it. Playing with tits like Williamson, Santon (positionally as bad a defender as you can find) and Simpson and with an absolute liability like Tiote in front of him doesn't help. He's certainly distracted. But unless they offer some decent cash he's going nowhere.
