Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini will not be involved in Saturday's Barclays Premier League fixture at Hull following a family bereavement.

The centre-back has been allowed to return home to Argentina to spend time with family rather than make the trip to the KC Stadium.

Yanga has to come in then, Taylor has had his chance and we conceded goals for fun.

“He wasn’t fit and I shouldn’t have played him but I played him because of his presence and calmness.

“Probably if you took him and Loic (Remy) away from the team today we wouldn’t have had anybody  who was calm on the ball.

“It is that calmness that can spread throughout the team.

“He will be fitter and more influential next week.”

Unless he's injured.

It's a "family bereavement" apparently, back in Argentina

Yeah, probably his cousin's wife's uncle's hamster that's passed away.

 Forgive me if I've missed a story of him lying about a bereavement in the past or something, but stuff like this amazes me.

I did, but even for someone as cynical as myself, I find it a whole new level.
