AyeDubbleYoo
It'll always be the same story with Obertan, he's got the tools to be an effective player but he lacks belief and his caution causes him to make the wrong decisions. As a regular in a slightly easier league he'd be decent.
Crumpy Gunt
I'd shake Fergies hand and concede to him personally that he was indeed the greatest manager ever just for the simple fact that he got Man U a fee for the useless cunt.

As a regular in a slightly easier league he'd be decent. He's a player who doesn't strike the ball well at all and makes bad decisions in possession. He could be incredibly confident and still be abject.

He made better decisions on the ball in this friendly tournament and strike a better shot than I've seen him do in two years in the premier. Confidence is a massive factor IMO. Confidence is a massive factor IMO. tend to agree on the confidence thing, he doesn't seem capable of handling pressure in the slightest and whatever confidence he has seems to drain out him him if he makes a mistake. In theory he'd be almost the ideal player to bring on mid 2nd half to just scare the hell out of tired defenders with his pace but as of yet he's almost never used that pace effectively
afar
I thought he's had a great pre season, personally I've no problem with that, seems like some people he do. If he keeps it up and forces his way into the first team and stays there on merit, then we should be happy about that, if he's decided he wants to be a successful footballer that'll be great for us. Ikon
He wont be good enough. I'll eat my s*** and throw it up and eat it again if he has a great season. People don't have a problem with his preseason, the problem is that they/i see that Pards will play him in many games despite not being up for it, just cause he's played well against poor players/ in friendlies

Alan O'Brien looked a decent winger for us in pre-season.
Ronaldo
I bet even Andy O'Brien could look decent on the wing in pre-season.

Doug
He was the best player on the pitch by a mile yesterday. However the ability to get away from opposition defenders and carry the ball forward in any sort of incisive thrust into opposing territory will risk losing possession and will not be tolerated by Pardew. Until he reverts to his old way of turning round and passing it back or sideways to where the mass of our defensive formation is he will have no chance of starting a game. JH
He's always been decent in low-pressure situations like a meaningless friendly. Stick in front of a crowd at SJP in a PL game, when we're chasing a goal, and he turns to fucking mush.
KaKa
25 years old this year. Some human beings just take longer to mature, and find that confidence. I'd be delighted if that turns out to be the case with him. Looks a lot more physical, and wasn't as tentative, using his strength more. I liked that a lot. Guest firetotheworks
It's honestly laughable that anyone would even give this lad an inch of scope to become anything other than he is. Even when he's playing with confidence he's an absolutely nothing player. At least with Shola you could argue that on his day he was admittedly and oddly very good. On Obertan's day, he'll beat one or two players on the break and we might create a chance....in the Europa League or the League Cup.
sempuki
Did well yesterday but we know his limitations. Time to move on - hopefully yesterday might have increased his chances of finding a new club.

huss9
still cant forgive him his non-performance at home to blackburn in the cup a couple of years ago. was a disgrace and a coward in the way he hid from the ball that day.
Unbelievable
Good on him that he's done reasonably well this preseason but the fact is he shouldn't have got anywhere near the pitch time he has had. Didn't he leave SJP once last season when he found out he wasn't in the match day squad. I'd love to hear what Ben Arfa has done to Pardew to have been frozen out whilst we continue to give valuable minutes to a player we know isn't good enough and hasn't acted professionally (either?) TaylorJ_01
Didn't Obertan walk out and Pardew cried and agreed to give him game time?
