Other reasons? Character maybe? Couldn't give a shit personally. Defender is priority. Striker can wait. They were all free transfers. Sochaux want £7m for Maiga. Hopefully we have alternatives, but I'm doubtful considering how long we've apparently been trying to get Maiga. It's not like we've already spent one entire transfer window floundering about and ending up with nowt. This one seemed to be in the pipeline for months and was likely because the player was forcing it through, if we don't already have a backup in motion then do you have faith in us opening up negotiations for somebody else and getting it done? I'd be very surprised if we didn't move for someone else but the fact it's January and we're going to have to pay more than the going rate is going to turn any deal into a painful bloody experience.
