After a failed transfer to Schalke 04 in Germany, Nolan Roux could finally end up in England before August 31. Newcastle in the Premier League, interested in the services of the RC Lens trained striker, have approached Brest and have made an offer in line with the player's release clause of €8m. It is being said that on Friday night, Brest officials were waiting for the approval of RC Lens, which still holds 50% of the player, to close the deal.

Is a club allowed to be 'held' by two clubs? I'd assume that Lens take a percentage of a future transfer fee, and that's what they're referring to. If so, their permission should just be a formality.

If they can actually block the transfer by saying the money's not enough, then it's not a release clause.

Ohhhh Derdiyok would be immense.

Even in mid-August theres some good striker options: Bendtner, Sturridge, Erdinc, Derdiyok, Roux.

On the subject, thought of song for Nolan Roux:

'NOLANNNN ROUX , AH HA, PASS IT NOW OR SCORE IT'

As posted in the other thread, it's worth checking out the videos on Dailymotion ahead of those on YouTube.

There's at least two on there (vs. Auxerre and PSG) where it shows you his every touch from the game, ala "Ben Arfa vs. Everton".

Doesn't just show his best bits, but he still manages to look very good in both games. Lively.

One Nolan out another one in. Good enough for me..!

 Thought the same.

Can't believe we're buying a player for 8 mio but it's obviously the old "upset them and make them happy again, before upsetting them again" Ashley tactic.
