It’s the same knee that’s had 2 lot’s of surgery on!!!! reassuring PR statement though, isn’t it?....

Maybe you could give the club a bit of credit once in a while for bringing in some pretty impressive young players.

Fenham Mag
Grand news, one of my mates is such a pessimist, he text me as soon as he got the injury saying "Great start to his Newcastle career, done his ligaments, out for 3-6 months". Can't wait to rub it in his face.

ponsaelius
Really hope this is true. Can't wait to see him slot into the team. Hopefully he can give us just a little bit of what José offered us.

Lush Vlad
Thought Pardew said all along if draining it doesn't work, then he will have to have minor surgery to remove some scar tissue, but not cartilage? In fact he did, here you go: "He’s had fluid taken from his knee and we think, fingers crossed, that will be OK - maybe he’ll be available for next weekend. "If that doesn’t cure the problem we think he’ll probably have an operation in there where we just go in and tidy it up. It’s not a cartilage, just a little bit of scar tissue."The prognosis is still a lot better than the original AP quotes from Friday. Most were worrying that he would be out for about 2-3 months, doesn't sound like that's the case.

Ishmael
Pretty simple situation here. Santon is having his knee drained today. If that works then he may be able to play this weekend. However, if the knee draining fails to fix the problem, Davide will then require keyhole surgery to remove some scar tissue, which is considered to be the underlying cause to the swelling and therefor the fluid buildup. If he does require keyhole surgery then he is looking at 4 weeks (+) out. Simple!
Lush Vlad
Oh but it really sin't that simple, it's not simple at all........

BottledDog
No need to go overboard. Seems a pretty standard, 'we're doing well so no player is just going to walk into the team' spiel. On past form, Pardew is pretty good at switching out senior players like Shola, Smith etc while publicly backing them.
