Aston Villa v NUFC - Sat 17th September 3PM

He wouldn't have nearly enough speed or stamina to get up and down in a wing back role. He'd be worse there than he is at LB, that formation simply wouldn't work with those players.

You need immense stamina and energy to play as a wingback, more than any other position in the game. Not to mention the need for ability on the ball.

Sammy can play wide or up top, he's direct and has a presence about him.  It's a no brainer, I'm confident even Pards will have him on the bench!

I hope you are right but Pards doesn't seem to be able to see how little Lovenkrands offers. I agree totally that Sammy offers more - the only thing is that if we are playing 1 up top then will Pardew want 3/4 strikers on the bench.

It could be Harper, Ferguson (as defensive cover), Guthrie, Smith, Obertan/Marv and then 2 of Sammy/Best/Ba/Shola/Loven depending on who actually starts. It could be therefore that there is no place for Sammy or Loven. This is all assuming that Gosling is the one to come in as the extra midfielder which surely he must be.

So I would play this:

                    Krul

Simpson  Colo  Saylor  Ferguson

      Gosling  Tiote    Cabaye

Marveaux                      Jonas

                    Best

I know Ba needs a chance but at this current point in time, Best is our best striker so he should not be dropped. I'd give Ba-Best partnership up front a go against Forest though.

Now that Santon is out, this is what I would go with as well. Maybe with Gosling having a more offensive role.

I'd go with that. Having 2 midfielders either side of him may help Tiotew sort his craic out aswel.

I do try to be creative but all you are mental if you think Pards will start Fergie at LB, we all know it will be Ryan Taylor

Indeed :(

Just hoping Ferguson will be given a chance at some point (hopefully against Forest on Tuesday if not tomorrow...)

call me ignorant- but who will be playing down the right, running past R taylor?

N'Zogbia.

ouch

Hasn't been in very good form so far, luckily. Although I suppose that means he'll get a few goals tomorrow.
