Benwell Lad
What a load of drivel. Yet another baying lynch mob producing a ridiculously one sided statement in the heat of the moment, but without a single constructive or realistic suggestion of how the club moves forward post-Ashley. They may remind themselves that the last time they screamed for Ashley to sell up he tried to oblige but no one wanted it save for some crackpot scheme involving fans pension funds. Not Shearer, not Keegan, in fact no one. Staring into the bottom of pint glasses in the Labour Club grumbling to each other about how badly they feel done to is not going to change anything. A substantial and credible offer may do so.
AyeDubbleYoo
I wouldn't really criticise them for wanting to take action, the problem is that the issue is so hard to resolve that it probably won't make any difference. In the meantime, it's extremely tiring going through this Ashley Out thing every few months.

If you still had it, I guess you'd be cancelling in protest this season?

If you still had it, I guess you'd be cancelling in protest this season? Quite possibly. It came down to living under the same roof as my folks and having a ST, or putting the money to better use and moving out. I chose moving out. The football also wasn't enjoyable. My last year was the full season under Glenn Roeder, following 18 or so months of Souness. An utterly miserable 3 years. Losing at home to Sheff Utd on my birthday, getting spanked 4-1 off Fulham, the Bowyer/Dyer scrap. Aye I'd probably have been inclined to bin it after the season just gone if I still had one. Just like back then, it's hard to see where the club is going.
Colos Short and Curlies
I honestly believe that groups like this would have more success if they tried to find a situation where they can work with the club/Ashley and not just voice off about him leaving. The only way he is leaving is if someone is willing to pay over the odds for the club, which is pretty unlikely (going off the notion that if it hasn't happened yet it isn't likely to happen soon). So why not use your passion and energy to try to get to a position where you can work with and influence, rather than work against and antagonise? LRD
How do you work with someone who obviously doesn't give a damn how you think? He'll just enjoy his subversion of the fans, appoints the likes of Kinnear, pop on his shades and tell you to deal with it.

George Bailey
Yeah we can't do anything at all. So why bother. just keep tturning up, buy all the merchandise and bloody well know our place.
AyeDubbleYoo
That's why there are people who know that nothing will change unless he sells up, and have a sense of apathy about the situation. Yep. Saying that though, I believe general OK progress (on the playing side at least) with the odd disastrous decision (Kinnear) every so often is possible under Ashley. And during that, I hope that every 90 minutes produces enough interest to keep me going. For many clubs, that is all the fans really have nowadays. I don't have an ST so I can't comment on what I would do with that. Probably not renew TBH, given that you can buy a ticket for almost any game you want anyway. AyeDubbleYoo
Is the objective to get him to change, or to leave? The latter seems to require quite a lot of things, the main one being a buyer.
Interpolic
If you think it's naive to think he'll leave then I'd say it's even more naive to think he'll change.
Guest JS
An empty ground against the top 4 coupled with an anti Ashley statement would go some way IYAM I'm not convinced. In fact, I can't see him 'selling up' for a long time; I dare say that what we buy (pies, merchandise etc) and season ticket income wouldn't have a massive effect on his fortune compared to the money the new TV deal is worth anyway. He's never cared what people thought of him - be it in 'The City' with SD or anybody else up here with regards to NUFC. He;s a maverick. If Newcastle United can keep rolling in a profit via big TV money and he can keep the club running costs to a minimum / selling players for big fees he'll stay until his money has been made back up - if it continues to be a profitable company why would he sell up? I don't know what Mike Ashley thinks - not many sane people do - but if he can make money from NUFC and get global advertising via the Premier League for SD for nothing on a consistent basis he'll go nowhere IMO. It would take something seismic, like the club being relegated to League 1 or a huge buyout from another investor before he leaves.
Crumpy Gunt
I'd rather see Pardew leave than Ashley. As pissed off as I am about Kinnears appointment I do firmly believe we need someone in his role. I said it earlier but his brief will be to improve the Club where it needs improving - Reserves /Development Squad. If the Brighton defeat highlighted anything it showed there's very little or nothing supporting the first team. As for the meeting last night. Who the fuck wants Steve Wraith raising his concerns the thick stupid cunt even suggested that Ashley 'embarrassed' him. Embarrassed? I know what was embarrassing - the fucking fake funeral. That was as humiliating as it gets. And the pall bearer for Wraiths pathetic stunt Graeme 'Ashley Out' Cansdale who is raising motions of no confidence I've been informed hasn't darkened the turnstiles for a long long time before Ashley showed up. The biggest pair of Shysters you'll ever have the misfortune to meet. I think anyone with half a brain stayed away from that pile of shit last night.
