WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Wonder if Shola employs the same tactic. "Areet baal lad? If you gan in that net, al buy ya a nice new hat. Any colour or shape you want."

Deuce
Consensus then. Cron taking the last pen = ballsy or twatish? Twatish. Has to be, their best player never took a pen. Or you want your best player lining up in the situation of most pressure. He should've been 3rd or 4th though, tbh.

I'd rather have the best pen taker first, although that didn't exactly work for Spain.
colinmk
Twat wanting the glory of the last pen of course, typical Ronaldo decision.

Beren
This is a pointless guessing game. Who cares. Talk about the England squad please. Yes, I was a bit disappointed BBC focused so much on the Portugal-Spain game instead of England tonight. No interviews with Scott Parker, discussion on leaving Rio out of the squad or anything.. If he lines up to sink the 5th and put Portugal through, he's a hero. If not, he stays Cristiano.
Ketsbaia
GET IN SPAIN!!!!! Was convinced Portugal were gonna scrape the win, but Spain deserved the win. Enjoyed the match too and I hope we get the dream Spain vs Germany final. Ronaldo is a bellend, mind. Waiting to go 5th so he can take the glory. HA! Go home you twat. Zero
Seriously how can you enjoy Spain match? It is fucking boring. It is a fucking negative tactics that the aim is to eliminating opponent's chance by having as much possession as possible. That is not Barca FFS. Passing is a means to attack not an ends in itself. It's all fine showing of your passing skills, but very little action takes place in the final third of the pitch. I suppose the Barca bumming boys might find Spain's play enjoyable because of oooh look at their possession statistics. I hope Germany twat them in the final. Guest n4e
Decent game. Hoping Spain go on and win it now. http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/masonry/000/244/245/225.png

ponsaelius
I hope Germany or Italy win. Then again Spain winning and winding up alpal is a decent fallback.

The idea that Barca or Spain are boring is ridiculous, you're not fully appreciating all the aspects of football if you think that IMO. Patience, technique, persistence, pressing the ball in defense, I could watch them play all day. Also, as Iniesta said the other day, teams set out to contain and frustrate Spain, so that results in a tight game. If people would be brave enough to attack them, the game would be more open. Guest Roger Kint
Am sure if VDB selected a striker(how has he not given Llorente a shot before Negrado?) it would help people appreciate them. The number of times they get into great positions and then retreat back to the centre circle to start again as theres noone in the box is pretty frustrating tbh. Jayson
If someone passes the ball amongst the defence on Fifa you dont go...well this is incredibly crap but to be fair theyre showing a lot of patience & persistence. Spains main tactic is to keep possession, so limiting the amount the opposition can create. To do that they often avoid incisive moments & stick to simpler passes. Its clever & its worked very well for them as can be seen from how little they concede. But boring is exactly what it should be called.
Ketsbaia
The fashionable thing is to say that they're boring and the fallback is to say "well it's my opinion". Once they stop being the best in the world, this nonsense will stop. Are they boring to watch? Of course not. It'd be nice to see an opponent that actually has the balls to try, though. Portugal briefly did so last night.
