He let them do whatever the fuck the wanted, when they wanted and how they wanted. The spineless little cunt feels that threatened that he gave them the everything this afternoon. Scared shitless to give fouls against them as Pep would kick off about it at full time and he'd be in the spotlight. i expected City to win but I also expected the referee to be impartial and he just fucking wasn't. They're better than us but fuck me, at least abide by the fucking rules and make them play by them. Kavanagh can fuck clean off. I don't normally blame refs for losses but tonight was insane. Hope ne never refs us again Offside free kicks can be taken from inside the opponent's half, they changed the rules a few years ago

So for example Isak could be offside when the ball is played but if he touches it in our half then the free kick is taken from where he touched it
joeyt
If an offside offence occurs, the referee awards an indirect free kick where the offence occurred, including if it is in the player’s own half of the field of play. 11.4 here https://www.theifab.com/laws/latest/offside/#no-offence

duo
After disallowed first goal the lineman kept flagging us off side after that rather than let us play to the whistle - didn't do the same for City. Edited January 15 by duo
NSG
Thought Clattenburg was shite tonight. Didn’t let it flow at all. Mowbray on comms was excellent though.
Adam
Worst thing yesterday was the refs total lack of control around players and officials hounding the match officials. Rodri already on a yellow rushing the ref and jumping around in front of him. KDB shouting at the linesman at the end, then when the ref left the pitch one of the city coaches walked up to them shouting. Lots of talk on clamping down on dissent but nothing has happened. Allows team like city to pressure the refs and linesman every game with no consequences

Allows team like city to pressure the refs and linesman every game with no consequences It’s so frustrating, and it happens every time. They bring in a new law or approach to address a real problem, have a few weeks enforcing it (by and large) then it just goes away. A combination of a reluctance to punish bigger clubs, many clubs’ persistence and imagination in subverting the change and certain referees simply not enforcing it properly. If actually like them to follow other sports and make the captain responsible for this. A player shouts at the ref, captain is booked. Manager it coach abused the 4th official captain is booked. Ideally the captain (or a nominated outfield player if GK is captain) is the only one who can approach officials. Anyone else running up to the ref gets booked. Refs aren't great but shouting at them and surrounding them is t going to change their mind, so just book everyone who does. If course refs won't do it, but if they did and players got sent off it would soon stop.
Hanshithispantz
The Rodri thing was daft like, he wouldn't shut up for a good minute or two after the yellow. Like I don't want to see players sent off for that, the ban situation needs a massive overhaul imo (complaining/asking for cards could easily be a sin bin thing), but we've seen players walk for far, far less this season. It's an obvious issue with trying to solve a problem by being massively authoritarian.
Yorkie
If they scaled this crap right back, purely to consider incidents like this - making it exist for player safety rather than over-policing football - I'd absolutely take it.

Hanshithispantz
Nowt wrong with the officiating, but Dixon and Tyldesley showing that they actually know the handball law, whilst still acting with bewilderment as to why it stood, was fucking aggravating Arm by his side, pinged off him from a yard away, and he wasn't the goaoscorer so none of it matters anyway. The constant moaning about the (objectively better) decisions to let offsides play out regardless of how obvious they are is creepy as fuck too. Geordie Ahmed
Biggest frustration was him not booking Kamara after his 4th foul and it was a clear pull of Gordon's shirt, that alone could have been a yellow
