Would love to see Marriner's heat map after games. Doesn't seem to ever move much either side of the centre circle

Barely ever breaks into a run and doesn't even bother to try and get the best angle to make a decision

About time, but they will just replace him with just as incompetent/corrupt former has been.

They will never learn, in fact yesterday they announced that some former refs who everyone hated are to become new referee coaches.

What the fuck is the point?

’The standard of refereeing is poor, so we’ll get those who are the poor referees and have been accused of being corrupt by every fan base and get them to train the new people.

Might as well bring Blatter in to tell them how you pick up a brown envelope.

High-profile referee Mike Dean is to become a dedicated Premier League VAR.

Dean retired as an on-field official after 22 years at the end of last season.

The 54-year-old will now join Lee Mason as a dedicated VAR as PGMOL look to make the best use of their most experienced officials.

Think this is a shit rule change personally. You'll get keepers now deliberately handling shit backpasses knowing they'll not get sent-off.

5. Law 12 – Fouls and misconduct relating to goalkeeper handling

Another example of being sticklers for details sees an additional change to Law 12. IFAB have confirmed a keeper can handle the ball within their own area without being sent-off for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity.

I’m all right with it tbh. They still give away an indirect free-kick in their own area and a red card for that seems harsh. Think it’s very different from - say - a centre-back tipping the ball over the bar. I really don’t think we’ll see a sudden spate of keepers picking up back-passes.

They never seem to enforce the back pass rule these days in anyway.

An indirect free-kick seems little punishment for preventing a certain goal.

I think anyone who plays in goal is going to say that's offside as the player is standing in a position where the GK has to change their position to see the ball. Mendy is probably standing a step or two his left more than he would and his body weight is shifted to his left as he's leaning to see. Shot goes to Mendy's right hand side and it looks like a shit flop dive as he can't gain any momentum in time to dive to the right.

No idea how the hairpulling was missed though. :yao:
