AyeDubbleYoo
That sounds a good change, without clicking the Tweet, but will obviously lead to yet more confusion over what the handball rule is.

Sima
We'll see how long that captain rule holds. I give it about 6 weeks max. Edited August 16 by Sima

Guest
Does this include a ball accidentally striking a forward's arm and them scoring?
Checko
On 14/08/2024 at 16:24, LFEE said: Most of that's already the case tbh. Players already don't have to have arms behind their back. They do it to be extra super safe. Handball rule as it was really isn't complicated. It's only penalised if: 1. Deliberate handball If accidental, only penalised if: 2. Ball goes in directly off arm 3. Player scores immediately after it hits his arm (eg wilson vs Brentford 2023) [note player can pass to someone else to score] 4. Hits ball when arm is making body unaturally bigger - i.e. when position of arm can't be justified by player's movement. Really not a complicated rule. Most of the controversial handballs come down to that subjective 'is the position of the arm justifiable?' (eg Tino vs PSG) situation, which is still going to be a judgement call . Main issue seems to be training refs to know that players arms move up and down when they run and sometimes come out sideways for balance when they jump or turn. JB
Welcome to the new season, same as the old season.
Decky
Never a red, he clearly didn't even touch him. If anything the Southampton player headbutts Schar.
Shak
Madness that's a red, there's no contact at all he just gets right in his face and the pathetic gimp just flings himself down. You're basically rewarding cheating by giving a red there. Pathetic.

spudwiser
If he makes contact at all, then it is a red, soft or not.
Magpie
That prick put his head into Schar, plain as day
The Butcher
It's a red all day and has been for as long as I can remember. Sadly. Piss poor from Schar. Absolutely fewwwming at him. Fucking brainless idiot.

Squaring up to someone and slightly touching skin is not the same as a headbutt though so not violent conduct. No point pretending otherwise. Never a red. On 17/03/2022 at 22:23, Kid Icarus said: Pawson's a fucking pushover and a shit referee like. Couldn't give a shit if we benefitted from it, that red card was a joke. On 16/09/2023 at 19:44, Kid Icarus said: I think our fans and Brentford will both agree that, as always, referee Craig Pawson, who always looks like he should be tossing a salad at the world's most boring, insufferably middle class dinner party, was absolutely fucking shit. Pilko
Brainless from Schar to give the referee a decision to make, especially when it's an incompetent fucking cunt like Pawson who couldn't wait to wave the red card. Absolutely ridiculous that VAR didn't overturn it and watching that greasy long-haired relegation fodder cunt laughing on the pitch afterwards gives that familiar sense of complete injustice. Hope he breaks both his legs second half.
andycap
Var yet again not doing there job properly. Just siding with the ref.
