Got the important decision right first half  But classic "homer" performance 2nd half. Felt like we got waved play on for loads of fouls on us but they kept getting soft decisions. When he did give a foul against them he wouldn't book them for clear counter attack stopping fouls.

No penalty for Gordon but then Botman gets a foul and booking against him for doing far less at the other end?  Was gonna be seeing if that had resulted in a goal against.

Then 12 mins seemed massively excessive, especially when you consider the same ref blew dead on against Liverpool when we were counter attacking.

As usual with these guys it's the chronic lack of consistency that exposes either their ineptness or their unconscious bias.

I still have no idea how our first was not ruled out for handball, i would be fuming if this happend against us.

because he didn't try to make himself bigger, the ball just twatted off his hand from a metre away,it was interpreted correctly in the rules

If it hits the arm/hand accidentally it's only a free kick if:

1. You score off your arm

2. You score immediaely after it hits your arm (i.e. Joelinton scores. A teamate can score after it hits his arm)

3. It hits your arm when it was making your body unnaturally bigger. I.e the position of the arm can't be justified by your movement on the pitch.

Only 3. could apply and his arm was down by his side so not making his body unnaturally bigger so no free kick. Accidental handball's usually just waved play on because of this. It is a judgement call, but this decision was pretty obviously correct IMO.

Didn't burn do the exact same thing later in the half and ref called handball and foul for that?

I'm not sure whether it actually hit Burn's arm but he was very lucky to stay on the pitch given the ref gave a foul, IMO.

It looked like Burn made himself bigger with outstretched arms. Reality was that he pulled them back before the ball hit though, so shouldn’t have been a free kick.
