NUFC transfer rumours in the press

The Taylor at right back horror seems really blown out of proportion based on one (?) game.

Obviously he is a centre back first and foremost but I can't see why he can't perform at a decent level at right back.

That Amalfitano fella, the technically gifted attacking midfielder.

Where does he fit into our side? As one of the defensive wide players/extra fullbacks or in the midfield cage screening the back four?  :hmm:

Well he's an attacking player so on the bench of course.

Newcastle are leading the chase to sign Dijon midfielder Benjamin Corgnet.

Corgnet has been attracting interest from a number of clubs across Europe, but French radio station RMC Sports is reporting that Alan Pardew is determined to land his signature.

The 24-year-old has looked impressive for Dijon in Ligue Un this season and played a major role in helping them gain promotion last season.

Pardew has already shown he is willing to bring the best French talent over to England following the signings of Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa and Sylvain Marveaux.

Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the talented midfielder, but it seems certain that Newcastle will make a bid to sign Corgnet at the end of the season.

If we bring in some promising young talent, I honestly have no problem with Guthrie going. Let's face it, he's never going to be first choice, so if he's unwilling to accept a bit part role, then he should move on. He's proven recently that he can play at this level, so he owes it to himself to try and get regular first team football.
