Guest Haris Vuckic
Mirror.co.uk Newcastle United prepared to offload striker Papiss Cisse ChronicleLive-19 minutes agoShare However, this is a move that would only interest Cisse if he was assured of first-team football, and that it was a permanent deal. It is understood that he isn't keen ... http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-prepared-offload-papiss-6553821 Just in relation to that Ryder article.....since when has a squad now become a 'roster' in football speak? f***ing yankisms. Head Coach seems to be the accepted term for most new managers. Tim Sherwood (Head Coach) (Wears a Gilet)
LRD
I doubt the term 'head coach' has anything to do with Americanism and more to do with the fact that they have little say over transfers (you coach and select your line-up with the players you are given) as opposed to the traditional 'managers' like Ferguson and Wenger where other aspects of the squad and transfers have to go through the manager. Thomson Mouse
Same as this marquee signing shit that is creeping in. Always used to be star signing.
Yorkie
Not arsed if we sell Cisse tbh. We're a worse team whenever he's on the pitch anyway. Shola has a couple of basic functions that make him a better option - as fucking unbelievably depressing as that is to say - so I don't see any need to desperately hang onto Papiss, regardless of the striker shortage. Guest Recoba
Papis Cisse could be offered an escape route out of Newcastle by Rubin Kazan. Toon boss Alan Pardew has already drafted in Dutch striker Luuk De Jong from Borussia Monchengladbach on loan, which leaves the Senegal striker surplus to requirements at St James’ Park. Cisse, 28, joined Newcastle in 2011 from Bundesliga side Freiburg for £9m and enjoyed a prolific start to life on Tyneside, scoring 13 goals in his first 14 league games. This season, though the forward, who is behind Loic Remy and Shola Ameobi in the pecking order at Newcastle, has only scored once in the top flight, and Rubin Kazan are prepared to spend around £8million to take him to Russia. Dave
Best get rid, we can't be having more than two non-Shola strikers on the books at once.
Guest Recoba
Because Rubin Kazan went so well for the last African Newcastle number nine who went there. . .

Cajun
I'd get rid for £8m if it meant we went for another striker or wide forward. So I wouldn't get rid.

Skeletor
That £8m would look so good in our bank account whilst we loan another striker next season.
Unbelievable
I thought they had no money? You're not confusing them with Anzji?

huss9
likely he wasn't injured, and they were/are just trying their best to flog him. pardew hasn't mentioned his injury since norwich or whether he'll be fit for the weekend.
toontownman
What an absolute fucking disgrace our coaching staff are. I am sure Cisse is far from blameless as to strip it down it is probably a mental block he needs to work out. However, in a period where we might have just started to create opportunities for our strikers he is afforded no opportunity but judged upon months of being stranded up top with nothing for service. We are clearly incapable of man managing players... Slumps with Cabaye and Tiote were only fixed through luck after at least a seasons worth of poor performances (in Tiotes case) Ben Arfa and Marveaux Obertan - lets be honest he seemed a right off when he came but we certainly destroyed what little confidence he had. Heron
Don't really rate the chap to be honest, but at this rate we will need him for the remainder of the season. Newcastle have quite clearly touted him about to some desperate clbs in need of striking options. Nowt like boosting his or the teams morale...fucking shitlips. Greg
The club have been actively trying to get rid of him since the summer, he simply will not move on reduced wages and wants to stay in the Premier League.

Wasn't he the one kicking off over the Wonga deal in the summer? He's not gave a fck since the end of last season. I stuck up for him in the summer for as long as I could but he's given fck all back to the team.
