Kasper
Where did you find those stats, Kasper? http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/958432/Live/England-Premier-League-2015-2016-Newcastle-United-Southampton Click "Chalkboard", then pick what category you want to look at from the bottom and choose a player who's stats you want to check. Disco
Nothing new really but think that really highlights how little impact he had in the game if you don't count the goal. Yes I know how stupid that sounds but still... Had a major hand in the second too.

The College Dropout
The amount of times Soton throw a ball to Pelle's chest/head and just surround him knowing he's going to control it and lay it off intelligently is crazy. Into the final third with one ball on a regular basis. A lot has been said about relieving the defence of pressure. Havnig a striker that can hold it up and get us up the pitch with one ball is something that cn help.
Mole_Toonfan
Cisse is a goalscoring simply put and its goals that keep you in this league. We won't do much this season so I'd rather we kept him for his ability to score if anything else because it will likely keep us up. We cannot expect or rely on a 20-year old kid from Belgium or Perez, that would be madness. We don't need Austin, not at that price, I'd rather that went on a CB or wide player. Really hate that attitude tbh, they are young so they can't be relied upon. Mitrovic has scored goals against better teams than the majority of this team has and Perez was our best player last year. There is no reason at all why they can't be relied upon.

Yes I know how stupid that sounds but still... Had a major hand in the second too. Yeah but other than being involved in all of our goals he didn't really impact the game. Ok fair enough I'll get my coat.
sugoinufc
Was looking through some stats of the game and noticed this. Cisse's passes vs Southampton. Very little contribution in the central area. http://i.imgur.com/RP0Ti5a.png Compare that to Pelle's passes: http://i.imgur.com/9jSn6tA.png Nothing new really but think that really highlights how little impact he had in the game if you don't count the goal. Yes I know how stupid that sounds but still... as you say - nothing new! He is not perfect but absolutely lethal in the box. We should keep him - doesn´t have to start every match though! It's more about his movement tbh, we struggle to build attacks because of how he moves off the ball. He would get more opportunities to score goals if it were better. Can't knock his ability to finish the little amount we are able to make for him though.

Seen some rubbish posted about wor pap over the last few days. Who was it that said anybody could score the goals he scores? He has his flaws, but I still can't understand some of the criticism he gets when he's made a heck of a contribution over the years. Would a better striker match Cisse's record last season of the best number of goals per minute in the league? Not sure. I also reckon some people are in for a shock if they think replacing Cisse with Mitrovic is magically going to make us start creating more chances. Mole_Toonfan
That diagram looks far more like he has been told to take up those positions. I really hope not, because that's part of the reason he gets so few chances.

Mole_Toonfan
Pretty bloody odd that he wouldn't have received the ball and passed it off in a central position at all. I doubt many, if any strikers would score making runs like that I really fucking hope it's a problem on his end than an instruction he's receiving. Yes I know how stupid that sounds but still... It's not all down to Cisse, no one bothers (problem for years) to get into the box once he leaves it He put in a couple of decent crosses still. He played a big part of both our goals.

cubaricho
That diagram looks far more like he has been told to take up those positions. Of course he has. He's been coached to do that for the past four seasons. It'll take a while to coach it out.
Tooj
Not saying he's Rooney in linking the play but when we first signed him I seem to remember being impressed with his link up play and first touch.
Ronaldo
When he first signed his overall play was adequate at worst. It's gone backwards but I couldn't care less if he's scoring goals and doing the basics well enough to help make them, as he did on Sunday.
The College Dropout
When Cisse receives the ball in the centre of the pitch he's usually near a CB or CM who will either win the ball or make Cisse lose it. Do you have his touch map? Or heat map?

Offers absolutely nothing if he isn't going to score
