NG32
Their views on Santon are f***ing superb comedy. Young foreign players swaps leagues and doesn't set the world alight and is instantly branded s*** by the slack jawed yokels. Hell, some even said Simpson is better Funny enough, i was at a charity event a few weeks back. I know this mackem lass (dead canny and yes I would) I introduced her to my pal and we were chatting about all things NUFC and SAFC, got round to Santon and she said "this santon fella is a bit shit isn't he?!?!" Me and my pal both looked at each other and said "erm no" Put her bang to rights.

Guest Roger Kint
Did anyone on here post McLeans's twitter during his 'death threat hell'? Seen it mentioned all over the media that he deleted twitter due to the unwarranted(and eventual OTT) abuse but apparently he was goading them all saying how shit NI is. That true? ponsaelius
So that's Santon and Cabaye that are shite. Makes you wonder how we went from bottom half to Champions League contenders with all these rubbish, regular fixtures in the side.

Nobody
Cabaye has been the best midfielder in the NE by a fair few miles man Only Tiote could challenge him, but he hasn't played enough games because of injury and ACON. Cabaye is so far ahead of anything the mackems or smoggies got in midfield it's almost embarrassing
ponsaelius
Exactly, even Cabaye on his bad days would still be one of the best footballers Sunderland have had in 40 years.

pinkeye
The problem here is quite simple - you need to take out about half of our wins because they actually didn't happen - or at least we didn't win we just outscored our opponents - apparently. Taking this new lower points total and compare that to all the games Sunderland dominated and therefore won, on paper (and in their heads). Now the league looks very different. Next, ignore the bad start they had and the worse end of the season, only count the short spell just following the arrival of their new manager, use that as a benchmark for how the entire season would have unfolded and there you have it mackems are Champions League contenders and we stayed up by the skin of our scrotums.... Dr Venkman
O' Neill hounded out by christmas you reckon? all it takes is for us to beat them early on next season, which will happen.
Guest Wally_McFool
http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=699150 Why are they laughing at Cabaye's inclusion? You have to make allowances for their lack of knowledge. Cabaye's pass to Cisse against Stoke was the type of pass not seen at Sunderland since the days of Raich Carter so they simply do not know about the quality of this sort of thing. Mackems probably see that goal as a Cabaye "hoof" into an empty space and that Cisse was lucky enough to be running in the right direction and mishit his shot. Varadi
I genuinely think at least half a dozen of our current team would make it into an all-time mackem XI It must be soul destroying for the poor buggers.

Ishmael
Phillips obvs I enjoyed managing them on CM a decade or so ago. They had a nice squad with Bridges, Phillips and Quinn as strikers.
