Yes he was crap. As a central midfielder for 3 years in the Prem - maybe 5 GOOD performances.  Danny Guthrie managed as many in one season. 

 

Just so often did not do enough. Rank our midfielders over the last 15 years. He's in the bottom half dozen to have played somewhat regularly.

I liked that time he started in midfield and Perch at right back at Everton away, and he was so ineffective they had to swap round.

 

And that's the reality. Perch wasn't as "technical", but he was a better player. as was Guthrie before him.

Is it hell. Perch was better for us. Anita's football was prettier but it wasn't effective.

I don't class him as a technical player. Think he was more of the run around and tackle type.  Cabaye was technical, Shelvey is technical. Colback is meant to be the technical type.

tbf...you hated him. Was quite funny reading back. Point stands though, he was decent for a wee while, even his biggest critic had some praise for him

Faye and Smith are by far the worst and there's a yawning chasm from their overall contribution before you get to Butt, Colback etc.

 

Anita is better than those guys anyway. Still poor, but far better.

There's not one midfielder who I would describe as being a decent player for us that Anita was better. 

 

You have Barton who at least had a strong patch in the PL. Then You get to your Parkers, Jenas, Emre and Anita nowhere near.

That's a very very good signing for Leeds, he is a capable PL player IMO. Wasted at NUFC mind, but a player we should never have touched. That was a shitty summer after the high of finishing 5th!
