triggs
Don't think he was that bad today he linked the play well some nice one twos etc. He's clearly a link player who could probly play in the hole, to get the best out of him we need players moving in advance of him exploiting the space he's created Not a hope he could play in the hole. Every time he dropped off into space to receive the ball he immediately passed it straight back. He showed no flair
LoveItIfWeBeatU
He's being asked to defend more, that's hardly going to help his natural game is it? In what way is he being asked to defend though? Come back to defend corners? I don't understand how a striker/forward "defends more" apart from set pieces.
r0cafella
He wasn't a link player in the Netherlands, he was a striker. If he is no longer a striker then he is of no use to us. We have more than enough players who offer no goal threat. His link up play didn't create many (any?) chances today did it? Let's face it, he has played against Fulham and Crystal Palace and not looked like scoring. If he can't look like scoring against teams from the bottom of the Premiership I doubt he'll do it against the better teams. As for seeing him play when we play two proper wide men, we haven't got two proper wide men. He created a very good chance for Cisse in the first half and occupied defenders with some good hold play. We need a player who can link the midfield the attack as Pardew has been employing two midfielder who stay deep throw in our deep defensive line and it creates a gulf between midfield and attack

Come back to defend corners? I don't understand how a striker/forward "defends more" apart from set pieces. He didn't say on the bit that I heard, he just said that he was being asked to do more defensively. It seems to be our default setting for all of our players as we are obsessed with defending before anything.

Maybe Sissoko or Marveaux could play that role with Ben Arfa on the right. NUFC won't be spending £8m of our transfer budget on Luuk de Jong to be a link up player though. If NUFC have £8m to spend on a link up player I'm sure we could get a player who would provided more of a goal threat and creativity than Luuk de Jong. David Icke - Son of God
Has he actually had a decent chance to score in the games he's played? That header against Chelsea was his best chance.
Wullie
Generally I don't like criticising players, especially when they're still adapting but I thought he was awful. Cisse completely put him to shame.

Gallowgate Toon
Today wasn't great from him. He has the ability to be decent but needs to get his head a second or two quicker. Probably needs a decent winger in the team, even more so than Cisse.
ED209
First match i have been to in years today and to be fair he looked crap. Even more lumbering and useless than shola usually does and thats going some!
Disco
Doesn't lose the ball and have every second being a tackle like Shola though albeit he did nowt today but given the clip of the midfield that's no great surprise.
Pilko
I liked the look of him at first and he was outstanding at Hull, but his last two performances have been garbage. He's barely threatened the goal whatsoever in about 6 full games now and that's a worry.
Greg
He was decent at Hull and linked up quite well with Remy, he certainly wasn't outstanding. On what I've seen so far, got to say I hope we don't sign him.
Kanj
He's been playing as the second striker (obv not his pref. role), he's not a striker who is going to create his own goals, and he's playing in a team currently that hasn't really scored a goal when Loic Remy isn't on the pitch. I guess people expect him to put away those whipping crosses that come his way? Or those 1 v 1s? Those haven't been created for him. I'd have loved to see him get on the end of a few of Cisse's misses today...maybe he'd have scored?

Worrying if a striker can't shoot.
Mr. Snrub
Scored less than Cisse.

It's not looking too clever, especially when Cisse who's supposedly in the worst form of his career has had about seven in two games.
Dave
If he doesn't score, he'll be cheaper to buy.
Disco
He's not played number 9, mackem game aside. And if he has, he certainly doesn't play like the one he was quoted as being.
