Portsmouth slapdash team 1-0 up

There's some good players in there for League One level like.

Appleton is going to be a good manager imo, handled himself very well with all thats gone on.

Arsenal look a bit lost up front, Gervinho is having a right fucking stinker unsurprisingly and Podolski hasn't slotted in too well. Walcott is Walcott. Cazorla looks to be playing with people who aren't clever enough to appreciate him. But early days yet, mackems started well, sessegnon and colback in particular, but have faded.

been watching Liverpool as well - they look worse than last season. exact same story in terms of creating a decent number of chances , but they are all low quality chances - Suarez hitting off balance shots from tight angles, crosses too high/low/fast/slow to use properly, scuffed shots from edge of area etc. Except under Dalglish they were playing at a much higher tempo - Rodgers has them playing a bit more patient and therefore slower with less of a spark. neither Borini or Suarez looks like main strikers either.

can't really draw any conclusions considering most sides looks rusty at the beginning of the season, but i'd expect Wenger and Rodgers to be pretty underwhelmed/pissed off respectively during HT.

Great strike from Gera but he got a free hit from the edge of the box.

You'd think it would be Allen's responsibility because he's too short to be much use defending a corner.

£15m = Allen.

£14m = Tiote, Cabaye and Anita.

:spit: :mackems:

watching these two games as well - agree on the above especially liverpools tempo, liverpools midfield looked very average and slow considering the reputation of those three.
