He needed a brave manager to involve him in the matchday squads when he broke through as he was good enough. Seems to have gone backwards since his debut against Cardiff 2 seasons ago. Crying shame as during that 10 minutes he was the best player on the pitch by some distance. Carroll was never any use on loan from what I remember. Don't underestimate the effect of playing for your hometown club with your family in the stands. Blew Aarons out of the water a few years ago, and got MVP for the tournament alongside some very, very talented players IIRC. He may not make it, because he is so very tiny, but the guy has a quality finish and good pace. He's not been injured, so can only imagine it's a confidence thing if he looks like he has nothing.
