From Matthew Duggan, Hebburn IT is a difficult window, but I think we would like to get – definitely – one player in and not lose anybody. It could be we lose a player, you never know. I lost Andy Carroll in this window and in a situation that was not too dissimilar to what I am in now two years ago, maybe it was a bit better. However, if that is the case then we need two players and if we lose two then we need three. That will be difficult in this window. I cannot see two players leaving but you can never count on one. Thought I'd just highlight that, to stop the bairns getting carried away.
TherealnorthernTOON
Will Pardew ever change in his persistance with the long ball?
Guest icemanblue
Will Pardew ever change in his persistance with the long ball? What, like in the last three games, you mean? Nah, probably not.
Dave
Still not worried by our form at all btw? Not being arsey, genuine question.
Guest icemanblue
I'm concerned with the results, but our general play has picked up considerably. So, really, I'm even less worried in regards to relegation. Still think we'll finish in the top half.
Dave
Hope you're right. A good January is key IMO. Transfer activity I mean.
Hanshithispantz
I agree with Inochi like, although if an immediate and amicable switch could happen tomorrow I'd take it. As much as I know Pardew is a capable manager it's abundantly clear that he'll never be a top one.

I'm shitting myself over the results, but the play has definitely improved and we will start picking up points soon. As you both say, some strengthening in Jan would help a lot. TherealnorthernTOON
What I'm most worried about, is Pardew comfortable taking the risk of playing such an offensive football?
Guest malandro
Some of those answers Why did the club not strengthen in the summer? "Myself, Mike and Derek all agreed we should have brought in one more senior player..... For whatever reason it did not happen" Well that's informative. From John Mckean, Walker WE have played 4-3-3 in the last three Premier League games. We have had two defeats and a win. Now we are looking for the balance to get the best out of the team at the moment. When you have a creative force like Yohan Cabaye missing in the midfield it causes you a problem. I think if we had.............. Good to hear his side, especially in regards to the last window and Jonas.

He's not going to go into details, slagging off other club's administrative staff, is he? Especially if we're going back in for these players at some point. He really can't win. Jack Flash
What I'm most worried about, is Pardew comfortable taking the risk of playing such an offensive football? "We were using 4-3-3 and we were probably playing too high up the field. Then we went to 4-4-2 and we looked so much better for it and I do not think any fan could argue with that. That is my call during the game and before the game it has to be my call to choose the system I think is best to eke out a result out." Based on that (and the word "eke" ) I'd say no. JH
Never expected him to commit to more than one incoming - would you? This place would string him up if he promised 2/3 and didn't deliver.

Yorkie
Our last three performances - even though it's one win and two losses - have been an improvement; there's been more movement and actual gameplan going forward. In fits and starts anyway. It's still hasn't been enough to pick up my spirits that much; the way that we lost both games still stank. Points were realistically available in all three, especially Fulham which was just a total brainfart of a last-twenty-minutes. I think we'll be loitering in a similar position come the 1st January, but a good transfer window will galvanise us and i can see us hitting 40 points relatively soonish if that happens. So much rests on the transfer window this season, atm. Not overly optimistic by his comments but not suicidal either.
