Simpson wasn't injured then, just dropped altogether... trouble in paradise, Danny?

If Simpson isn't in the eleven, there's no point having him on the bench, when Santon, Anita and Perch can all full the RB slot if needed.

Simpson is on the bench.

NUFCOfficial: #NUFC Just in - a late change on the bench for United, with Danny Simpson replacing Gael Bigirimana. #newcastle #epl #lfc

Yeah, late replacement for the injured Bigi.

So Pards dropped Simpson from the original 18? Very interesting.

Just what I thought.

It makes sense though, no need for someone who can only play RB to be on the bench instead of Ferguson (who can play as a defender and an attacker) when you have Santon/Perch/Taylor who could all fill in there. Simpson just isn't versatile enough to warrant a place on that bench.

EDIT - well looks like he is now on the bench anyway, but point still stands.

I think it might be Cisse on the right and Ben Arfa on the left.

If it is, it's frankly f***ing crazy. Aside from the obvious point that there's no way Cisse can play on the right.

Almost sick of saying it, but under a 4-4-2 you need your wide attacking players to have their strongest foot nearest the touchline. Ie lefties on the left, right footers on the right.

Under a 4-3-3, as the wide attacking players are playing as auxiliary strikers, this should be reversed.
