Is that it? because i highly doubt Huntelaar and Lewandowski will be sold in this window so a big deal has been made out of nothing if so. Huntelaar has looked really disinterested for a while now. He just signed a new contract though i don't think he will leave until the summer at the earliest and even if he did leave we would have to react f*cking slow to allow it to matter. But if Remy is cheaper, then everyone knows the score. Our board will drag anything out if it means reducing final cost and saving some money. Not that they'd listen or anything, it just seems to be all about appearances and spin at times. A forward in the last week of the window and people will be 'happy'. It's gonna be another case of smoke and mirrors until the end of the window, which will ultimately end in disappointment with the club saying 'we tried, but couldn't get anyone over the line'. His value and salary will only go up as the end of the window looms (Andy Carroll is the best example of this), clubs including us will no doubt get increasingly desperate, more money in the transfer fee and more money for his wages. It's usually in their interest to drag things out (unless they need money quickly) hoping for a bidding war. We obviously had the Debuchy deal agreed with his club before the Transfer window opened. As for Remy and/or Aubameyang, we really need two strikers anyway (although it's highly unlikely we'd get two). Apart from Ba, Lovenkrands and Best left and weren't replaced. Xisco is leaving in the Summer (and doesn't really count as he never plays). Ranger isn't wanted and Shola isn't really worthy of the title 'striker' based on his goal return. Apart from all this, the lack of movement on a CB is truly worrying if Taylor breaks down again before the end of season( which he will) we are back to Williamson every week Edit: From the Daily Star( yeah i know) in an article about Cabaye. Newcastle have lined up St Etienne’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if they miss out on Marseille striker Loic Remy. The club are confident the French international will arrive this month, despite strong interest from Inter, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke.
