Loïc Remy

Honestly, signing Remy and Carroll within the next year would gives us a dynamic line-up if Ba was to go.

I'd have Carroll as backup for both Cissé and Remy though, but going 4-3-3 with Remy on the right and Cissé in the middle or 2 up front with Carroll + Remy or Cissé sounds tasty.

I reckon Pardew will keep going for Carroll until we get him.

Hopefully we'll manage to hold onto Ba as well. This clause can't be that amazingly attractive or someone would have activated it already.

Totally agree on that, just think Ba and his advisers are trying a get a deal done for January with a club.

Yeah, certainly seems like they are.

I guess the advisers are Ba's problem as well in a way. If it was as easy as getting Ba for £7m plus wages then there would be many suitors I'm sure.

But if it's a case of getting Ba for £7m plus astronomical wages plus a couple of million to his brother and a few cousins, as well as his dodgy knee situation, it might be not be so easy for him to find a good destination.

Obviously if he's only worried about money he might end up at QPR or in Russia or something.

It won't be lost on shrewder, better clubs that despite Ba's brilliance and scoring record he will be difficult to accomodate. Not wanting to isolate already good strikers probably rules out a move to any of the top clubs.

As you say QPR or Russia may tempt him, he'd probably get his own way at West Ham too, or dare I say it Sunderland, but it's probably Liverpool at best for him if he decides to seek pastures new.

I'd love Remy to be brought in because it probably has the potential to make us a better all-around team?

Not sure myself. I don't trust the manager to get it right and he'll probably end up wasting him like he's wasting everyone else (except Ba, who we're trying to sell). I'm sure Pardew would prefer Carroll so he could go back into his comfort zone of long balls.

Marseille's Loic Remy would be keen on a move to Newcastle, Sky Sports understands

Loic Remy: Keen on move in January

Loic Remy: Keen on move in January

Sky Sports understands that Loic Remy would be keen on a move to Newcastle in January.

The 25-year-old has emerged as a realistic option for Newcastle in the New Year, as the long-term future of Demba Ba remains unclear.

Ba's current deal means an offer of £7.5million would be enough to take him from Newcastle.

The Magpies hope Ba will sign a new deal, but they are understood to be making plans should he leave and one of those is Remy - who has previously interested Tottenham and QPR.

Newcastle already have a strong French contingent and that is believed to appeal to Remy - who is keen to try his hand in England.

"They are a very good team," Remy told Sky Sports when asked about Newcastle.

"They are a big club with good players, very good fans and a nice stadium that is always full."

Reports claim that Newcastle are already in talks with Marseille over a deal - but Remy insists he knows nothing about that.

He said: "The window opens in January, and there will be speculation from now until the window closes - if I have to leave then all parties must be happy.

"I have a contract so let's wait and see what happens.

So basically with these quotes he's done to Marseille what Ba's doing to us.

Ah well.

Starting to feel that we'll have a trio of Cisse, Remy and Carroll soon. All different centre forwards, tbf.

If Pardew feels he needs a Carroll type then i'd rather he tried for Llorente (whom i believe is out of contract in the summer).

Imagine a team with with the technical talent of Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Cisse, Remy, Coloccini, Anita and Santon playing in the same team as Williamson and Simpson.

It's only one extra player than usual, but it's so lopsided.

Phillippe Auclair on radio now saying this is very likely to happen. He fancies it and Marseilles need to sell one of their bigger names to balance the books.

He also says it will be a lot less than £10m(well around £7m ish)

Edit: Reckons Debuchy is a non starter for this window, more likely in the summer if at all.

We need a CB before a RB at the moment. £7m for Remy sounds like good deal, not any great risk there.

If we are to sign just one which makes me despair to be honest, i'd much rather it was a solid hard centre half.

It'd make our set penises far less impotent.

Well it'll be better than flaccid Williamson, lolling about.
