This is the genius of Mike Ashley, managing ambition and gradually lowering our expectations. We were all thrilled at the prospect of Tuchel and Garde, by giving Charver the job until the end of the season, we are now positively gagging at the prospect of Championship Shteve. I did think that now Charnley was in charge of recruitment we might venture out with a manager from the continent, but it looks like he's the same as Ashley, only comfortable with a pie and chips manager.
