Official: Yoan Gouffran signs new contract with Goztepe

We're Frencher than Arsenal, but shitter. This does not compute in the CPU that simulates Derek Llambias's emotions.

In all honesty though from a first team 11 point of view we are a few players up front and centre half away from matching them - oh and a competent manager to tie it all together

Yeah we are pretty far away :) - they also have young players capable of coming in and doing a job as they are trained and prepared for it by the coaching staff

Is he really worth getting?

Wouldn't be better to give Campbell some appearances?

Dunno anything about goufran apart from when he played against us, but we need a first teamer brought in it's not the time to be giving people appearances. Campbell looks decent but needs to be on loan, should never have been near first team this season imo but that's just the situation we're in

My goodness ... just pay up the one million euros and stop wasting time.

Unnecessarily frugal. It's already a heck of a deal for someone who has done so well the last two seasons in France.

Will be surprised if this doesn't happen. For £1m we can't lose on this deal.

Aye upgrade on Obertan and covers all across the front. Any creativity for such a small outlay should be snapped up tbh.

Would assume we bid before reading the Sudouest.fr article saying we bid and they wanted more?

He's a good, versatile player, with some great attributes and is in goal scoring form. He's miles ahead of Campbell.

Can you say more about his attributes?

Pace mainly i think

We obviously still need a proper ba replacement but if we got this guy in too, it'd be ideal. Not much spent if it doesn't work out, so I'm all for this kind of signing.

you are dreaming if you reckon we will get a Ba replacement too

He's quick, moves intelligently, is decent on the ball and a very handy finisher. He's not brilliant or anything but miles ahead of the rest of our options, bar Cisse of course. He is comparable to Remy in terms of his versatility, speed and movement, but isn't quite as good. He'll definitely nab a few goals, good record last year and looks to be on his way to at least equalling it this campaign.

The Times' window watch transfer guru @garyjacob has been on top of Gouffran story for days. He's on the ball and well worth following.

Sounds like a good option at the price.

It's a fantastic price for him. His off the ball runs are what we really need, while he can beat a man and is pretty solid on the ball, it's his movement that's his biggest asset. With Marveaux, Ben Arfa and Cabaye in the team, we should be able to give him a supply line and he'll create space for Cisse too.
